I spent far too many hours researching and buying parts for my ComeUp 9.5rs winch install.
I really wanted some way of power disconnect, such that I can disconnect power from the winch in case of an emergency and keep power from the winch when not in use.
I considered just buying a fuse, but realized that the size I would need would nearly be the current I’d see in a dead short situation - rendering the fuse useless.
Instead, I decided to install an EV200 contactor, normally used for the main power on an EV battery pack. It’s mounted on a custom made bracket, and wired to the aux switch.
Power cables are 2awg, wrapped in tesa tape, with VTE terminal insulators.
Goal was to make this look nearly stock. I think I did it.
