Per DRC on YouTube last night, some dealer stock orders for Willys 392s were abruptly cancelled by Jeep yesterday. Maybe those will be 2027MY instead? Hopefully customer orders are not impacted or delayed.
Or, they exceeded their allocation?

I heard somewhere the Willys 392 was going to be a limited run, not sure if that is true.

Waiting on Willys 392 SOT
Just ordered my Willys 392 yesterday (May 13th). Ordered it in 41 with the dual top option.
Nice choice! Swap for the SOT, and that's my order!

The Willys 392 info sheet released on the drop stated “limited quantities available.” So perhaps an allocation per dealer or limited to customer factory orders.

That would be quite the limited run! Two weeks?
Or, they said "WAIT! STOP EVERYTHING! We showed this with the soft top option, and we've said in the past we want to see MORE options like SOTs. Get those on the order guide now, STAT!"

I feel more likely it's they were overwhelmed with orders from non SOT folks.

Ha. Yeah the Willys 392 has been quite elusive. Still haven’t seen any confirmation on interior finish. Would be interested to have the dealers on here weigh in.
I think it was the recent Dirt Road Cred update where I saw this, but somebody said the Willys 392 is turning out to be like a 1 week ordering availability. The entire thing is nuts. A 12 for 12 drop? Ok. Anyway, I’ve cooled off quite a bit and will probably now wait for the JM. Jeep knows that 95% of these vehicles will never see rocks, but they don’t produce what the customer wants. It isn’t too hard to offer SOT as an option for the Willys 392 — it’s already produced. It’s also not too difficult to keep your word and offer it in March and with a soft top as indicated in the drop. If I need a Wrangler to drive my son around in the outdoors, I’ll just buy a 2-door Sport that is 5 years old until the 2028 come out. Promises made, promises broken.

Oh, and I read that for 2027, there will only be a single edition 392 — the Wrangler 392. It will be the top model in the range, and likely the same as a Moab. So the Willys has been effectively nixed.

Based on what I've gathered from other threads, this seems to make sense.
After all this waiting, I could say "F this, F Jeep, F the Twelve for Twelve crap, I'm buying a Scout with simulated mechanical sounds"
But I won't.
Jeep will suck me back in with the next thing.

Yeah the drip drip of info on this whole Willys thing is maddening. I gave up and ordered the Moab (Jeep wins) but I got a great deal at least.

I did see and read about the 2027 order guide and the M235 / Dana 50 rear end, etc. And required MOAB 392 trim (I can’t recall where I heard this) and no mention of Willys but who knows how accurate this is. Seems nuts it would be this limited of a run in the Willys trim. I think it may just get pushed to 2027MY and hasn’t been solidified. I’m just guessing like we all have been for last 3 months.

Believe it or not, there are many who don't want the SOT and wish the dealers had more inventory without the damn things. :puke: To each his own I guess, but to not buy something you really want because SOT's not an option? wow.

It's a must have for us. A deal breaker that it wasn't offered.
I've had soft tops but the soft rear window is a pain. Can't just open it and let the dog jump in.
Don't want the lift off panels or having to hoist and store the hard top when I want to open it up.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm just SOL on SOT for a Willys.

Willys 392 = Jeep vaporware

I'd pick up a MOAB before its production runs ends and the only way to scratch your V8 itch is a FE³ 2027 Rubicon 392 at $100K+

Except I also don’t want front disconnecting sway bars or front locker either. There are a lot of vehicles that interest me for $75,000. Not so many for $65,000.
