So i’ve been debating heavily what to do with my axles. Main option was call up allmoparparts and order stock rubi axles that way; but it seems the part numbers are superseded and it’s hard to justify 5.5k before labor on axles that i’m going to want to run 37s which will need to be mildly built either way(gears and shafts eventually too).

With m186 front and m220 rear my idea now is to lock and regear the rear, replace shafts as needed. And for the front to regear it and replace balljoints at the same time and wait for something to pop as I learn more and gather more experience playing in rocks.

Once the time comes i’d look at a UD44 and teraflex brake kit to swap stock sport brakes. But the main question, will there be any issue running a 1.5in wider front track width compared to the rear?

You probably realize this, but another option is to build up a base gladiator front narrow44. I believe they have the "HD" wrangler brakes as well.

There shouldn't be any huge problem. One option is to put some wheel spacers on the rear to get the width to match the upgraded front.

Long term you can save up for an upgraded rear axle and sell the stock one to help finance the upgrade.

I actually considered that, wouldn’t be too bad of an option assuming i can find one for cheap. The other benefit for me was that it would retain the FAD. But i’m also not sure of drawbacks of a non FAD axle being that JKs didn’t have them either.
