Was vacuuming it out today and noticed that the driver side front foot well was wet. The carpet was wet. Any idea is where this may be coming from? Is this common?

I had been wheeling hard and driving dirt roads, and had a leak from rain.. I found my roof bolts had loosened. Take off the front panels and check those bolts. Clean up those seals.

No, it's not "a Jeep thing" that you have to live with. While it sometimes happens, it's usually relatively simple to solve.

First: make sure your drain plug is in place. There's a possibility that you got water splashed up though that hole. Not likely, but possible and extremely easy to check.

Next you'll need to break out a hose and figure out how the water is getting in. It helps to have a helper inside looking with a flashlight while someone sprays various parts on the outside.

Once you identify the source then you'll need to figure out the best way to address it, which obviously varies based on the specific situation.

Mine had a leak for years, but it wasn't an issue at all since I lived in basically a desert on the Front Range of CO. It only because a significant problem after moving to the incredibly wet PNW. In my case the water was following a little bungee cord that I was using to pull the door straps out of the way. Got rid of the bungee and the leak went with it.

Investigate the air conditioner hoses. I went through many a summer in older-generation Jeeps with wet driver, but mostly and sometimes only passenger side, front foot wells.
Turns out it had a something to do with the air conditioner hoses.
I know in my JK the hoses just needed to be moved and adjusted a bit.
Also because of the AC hose issue water would drip on my skinny pedal foot.
Just something to consider.
Hope you figure out the problem!

Plugged heater drains. Get under your Jeep and blow them out with an air hose.
