I have found my front drivers side carpet and mats to be completely drenched. Shocking just how much water seems to be accumulating. I removed mats and dried the carpet as best I could and placed 2 bath towels on the floor and this morning found that over night, both towels and carpet obviously were completely soaked. We of course had some rain over night.

So, I cant seem to feel any dampness as the carpet starts to rise up the bulkhead towards the pedals, I've also checked the drain plug which is in place.

I had initially thought that it may have just been an over time accumulation from the gutter when opening the door, but given I had dried is out somewhat last night and the by how wet the towels were this morning, I've discounted that idea completely. At the moment, Im suspecting the door seal as it does seem a bit old looking, sticky almost as if it has been burnt, very strange. The only thing that is throwing doubt into this theory is that the plastic trim along the sill towards the inside of the car is dry, with no signs of water running over it (of course that is not so say it's not running under).

This is a 2019, 2 door with low miles, any thoughts of suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm... unless you have been going through some big ass puddles I don't have an answer. I ran into this issue on my pax side. Pull back the carpet and check the big plug underneath. Maybe it is missing or not in place.

I had a reason as I ran wiring for my on board air under the pax seat and routed through the plug. I have gone through some deep water though to make it happen.

I tried every fix on the forums. Windshield seal, under cowl weld/seam, plugs. The source of my mysterious wet mats was the molded rubber cover at the frame/windshield/door. I taped the entire area for two weeks and parked outside. Endless rain, dry carpets. Pulled the tape and sealed behind all of the molding and plugs. Still dry.

Do you have any accessory wired running through the clutch grommet on the firewall?

@Jeffy56 Thanks, turns out both outside ones were loose, thought I had won a watch, but after pouring some more water around the roof, still pissing in the bottom of the drivers door.

@Eyeball nope

@Chestatee This could very well be where my problem lies actually.

In the above (not the best picture), but the arrow is pointing to where I can see the water running with the door closed.

Think I'll just bite down hard and get the dealer to look at it (given I've broken 3 of the small white clips while removing tho bottom panel).

Exactly where my water came in.
I used a bit of electrical tape in the pics to test (all I had handy). It worked 100%.
Once removed, I pulled the two plastic plugs/trees, cleaned, applied a black RTV sealant/gasket, reassembled, put some sealant in the trees and mashed them in. Will have to find the tube of RTV I used. Nothing special. Good luck!
