Hi everyone, why don’t they update their website to 2020 for Jeep USA or Canada, I mean you can’t actually order a 2019 anymore I think, so why allow it? Wouldn’t they get more sales if their site was updated?

Walk into a dealership today. What will they have in stock? '19s and still some '18s. If they put '20s on the configurator, those who buy in-stock vehicles will think they should be getting better deals on 1 and 2 year old units, or, even worse, they will wait for the '20s to hit the lot, leaving more left over stock for the dealer to have to discount.
When the JLs first started hitting the lots, I went to check them out. The salespeople were steering everyone towards the leftover JKs. No mention of the JL unless you asked, and certainly no mention of a discount for an outgoing model. This is why the forum exists. We all educate each other so we know what's happening and when, and we usually know more than the dealerships do anyway.

So, short(er) answer: they might get more factory orders if they updated the configurator, but that's a small percentage of total sales, and factory orders are low margin anyway. In-stock units go for MSRP to the average schmo car shopper, or maybe a few percentage points below. That's where the dealer's bread is buttered, not factory orders.

After you configure a model, the website directs you toward existing inventory. Nowhere is ordering from the factory mentioned. They are more of a sales tool that lets customers know what's available.

Official model year changeover for FCA isn’t until 9/1 anyway, so the website will probably be updated a few weeks after that.

The 2018 option on the website is gone.

The 2020's are starting to roll into dealers.

There are 750 2018s within 150 miles of me, and no local dealers seem to want to offer any real discount on them. They keep telling me 'you don't know wranglers' despite already have owned 3, and seeing the discounts others on this forum are getting on 18s, 19s and 20s.

They did update the site. They removed the 2018 option this past week! LOL!!! They are definitely trying to steer you towards buying current inventory on their dealership lots.

Exactly this. I assume they also want to get a decent number of 20's on dealer lots before allowing Joe Sixpack to option out a new 20 and take the printout to his dealer for a discount because they only have 19's...

I saw the same thing throughout New England when I was shopping for leftover 2018's. The only one's I found with $7-8K+ discounts (forget $10K or more like some people seem to get) were Sahara's that were loaded with every option imaginable, so even after discount they were still mid to high $40's.

Almost everything else was $2-4K off MSRP and most of the 2018's were the wrong color or options for me. I ended up buying a 2019 for almost $6K off in the exact color and options I wanted because there are so many 2019's sitting on dealer lots.

In fairness to the dealers though FCA is not offering deep discounts/incentives on 2018's so they probably are losing money if you can find one for $8-10K+ off MSRP.

I also found brand new 2018 JK's still sitting on dealer lots with little to no discounts. Crazy. FCA seems unwilling to discount the leftover Jeep Wranglers with big incentives.
