Update 4/3: Said Goodbye. Jeep was surrendered under lemon law.
Just read some of what you went through...wow!!! I haven't gone through that much but some similar issues....check engine light for the transmission oil modulator...then replaced the hybrid battery....the heating coolant element for the battery...and to kick it off...the transmission was leaking...I'm just afraid of more going wrong plus the recent recall that it can catch on fire....can't park inside...can't charge...wife won't let the kids in it...I made the lemon law call today and submitted documents...they said since it was in shop for over 20 days it qualifies...

Good. In my case I got everything I paid back, minus about a thousand or so usage fee. Certainly beats the depreciation hit.

You're maybe right. Then they must be cutting corners elsewhere, which affects the overall Jeep quality, and not in a good way
I heard from a stellantis forum that they ate ~8-9 billion in warranty claims last quarter. I can't verify the authenticity of that, but based on what I see in the field it's a very reasonable number. A lot of the repairs are incredibly expensive when it comes to parts. 4XE batteries are still like $14k each.

Ford has a similar problem with warranty payouts. At least they took steps to correct a design flaw their in the troublesome Ford/GM 10 speed auto.

It's neither financially feasible nor good business to allow customers to be beta testers with the attitude that warranty work will fix the issues.

Seems like the OP purchased the wrong vehicle for their needs and is willing to eat the depreciation to put themselves in a more appropriate vehicle and eat the depreciation on the new vehicle. I would trade the 4xe in on the new vehicle and work the best deal that I could. In Florida (maybe most states?) it saves you a stack of taxes to trade in and work a deal.

I would strongly suggest not getting a Hyundai Santa Cruz, if you're into car/truck things get the Ridgeline so at least if you don't like it you don't get destroyed on the trade-in. Hondas hold value longer than Hyundais do, just a matter of fact.

Sold the Jeep privately, dealer offered 30k, so with sales tac credit that's = to $31,950. Sold privately for a lot more. I=Ridgeline and Maverick look like trucks, one reason I liked the Santa CRuz is that it doesn't, and in a sea of SUVs it looks different. Jeep was fun but way too noisy, poor gas mileage, bad brakes, and now have to park outside and not charge....I had my fun with it. Thanks everyone

Yep, that is a Jeep Wrangler. I guess you didn't know what you were getting into when you bought it. The reasons you mentioned are part of the experience. IMHO you could have still parked it inside AND charged it with no problems. I have the 6MT and have wheeled the crap out of it and my clutch didn't explode and the Jeep didn't catch fire. I did have the 19A recall done and they effed up the tranny in the process and replaced it under warranty. Didn't blink an eye, I just knew it was part of the "experience" of owning a Jeep Wrangler. Enjoy your SC, you didn't post a picture. ;)

" I guess you didn't know what you were getting into when you bought it. " No I did (not even my first Jeep), but my life changed a lot after I got it. I went from just a lot of local driving to longer road trips. Even drove the jeep to NY and back (3,000 miles). Did fine but now want to do a much longer road trip. Plus never thought about towing when I bought Jeep, now may get a small RV and the 3,500 pound limit is an issue. I did keep garaged despite warning but gave up on charging. I also missed the safety tech of my previous car (especially blind spot monitoring). So for me this is just a better solution for my drastically changed lifestyle.

Pretty.

A neighbor has one and I like the way it looks, so I considered the Santa Cruz when I was looking at new vehicles; I decided I was firm on going PHEV early on, though, so I never actually looked at its specs. I'm surprised that it's towing rating is actually above the Wrangler's; it's so teeny. :)

Sure, but its an other example of the governments screwing up the market. Jeep got tons of sales because of incentives from the authorities, but now they will loose money on many lease returns...
And that is their problem, not ours. For those of us who knew they werent going to keep the vehicles, saw the fact that the PHEV\EV market was downhill depreciation more than the gas equivs, we will come out ahead on having a lease and will be the dealers issue at turn in. Stella and the finance companies fk'd themselves by overpricing these and allowing high residuals.

In the Jeep Capital of the world...SW CO...the story is the same. We paid $61K for the 23 4 XE. We were offered $35K by the Jeep dealer....about 6 weeks ago. I should have taken the money and ran. Stellantis has provided a rental car while the jeep is on recall for the battery snafu. I suspect that they are not going to have a fix anytime soon.
How to take an iconic 80 year old brand and destroy it in less than a couple of years. In the meantime the Carlos Taraves the CEO who was just forced to quit..made $39 M last year on his cost cutting initiatives and price increases.
Sadly, its like United Healthcare...just different props and players....stick to the little people. Or as someone famous once said "let them eat cake"

Don't feel bad for anyone in this scenario - it's a motor vehicle; these are depreciating assets the moment they leave the dealer's lot. The pricing was always clear at the outset.
