Wanted to send an update to all who sent their advice - which I know helped me.
Brought the jeep to the dealer today and told them that the jeep originally came with soft top, but for me as 2nd owner got the hard top on it instead of soft top. I told them (thanks to the tips I received) that when the switch was made that the top wasn’t programmed correctly. The service advisor called me and said that the jeep needed a special code from the service manager to reset to get the back wiper to work.

is this legit? Or are they just giving me an excuse for not completing the repair yet?
I appreciate anyone’s thoughts- as I’m a newbie jeep owner.

thanks a lot!

Now, I don’t , have direct experience but, if it was only ordered with a soft top it will be missing some things. The wiper controls will be missing the rear controls and you'll be missing the hose and w for the controls in the back. If it was a dual top you would have all of that. So, it may be more involved than what you were told.

Yes, the dealer has a code to update the programming. As I posted on the other thread, you can do this either JScan or Tazer

JScan or tazer are great if you want to upgrade any lights to LED, or change tire size, or gear ratio or a number of upgrades. So please consider that before paying the dealer, cause if you want to do other things in the future, you might regret the dealer cost, over learning to do it yourself

Call the dealer you bought it from and see if they will pay your local service department to fix it. They should have done this already and it was an oversight.
