Tried to use the back wiper today on my 2021 JL (used/new to me) and it did.not work.
The washer spray did not work either.
The dealer was to connect the wiring to back window, before delivery. I thought it was all connected when the rear defrost button light came on dash, but now I’m not so sure it’s connected.
Any tips on how to trouble shoot the wiring for the back window is appreciated. Thanks.

Firstly, did you check that the connection is plugged together? It’s at the back of the hardtop on the driver side.

My defrost button lights, and I have a soft top :)
Hopefully it's a loose connection. You mentioned the dealer was going to connect the wiring. What prompted this? (You noticed it wasn't working during the test drive, it had the soft top on the dealer's lot, or something else?)
Have you checked the washer fluid level? (Yeah, basic, but could be.) And is the front washer spray working?

One more thought:was your Jeep ordered (originally -- check the VIN/original window sticker) with a hard top? If it only had a soft top, there is, from what I understand, quite a bit a work involved in added the wiring and tubing to the back. But it sounds like you have the rear wiper control, so I'm probably off the mark with this.

Hello-
Front wipers work and so does the spray. As soon as the monsoon stops , I will definitely check to see if the connections are tight and the washer fluid level.
the jeep was originally sold with soft top. When resold-to me, they put a hard top on it. So the wires were not connected at the test drive. I bought this jeep out of state so they were to do all the small we owes before delivery.

if the connections are secure and fluid is filled- any thoughts on next steps?
Thanks-

I checked the connections and all were tight. The spray hose actually had fluid on the end, but did not come out of the spray. The fluid was filled as well.
Any other thoughts?
thanks.

No,
it was originally sold as a soft top to another party and when Chilly got it, it was changed to a hard top.

No spray and no wiper movement at this point is where he's at.

Im in the same situation
Buy it as soft top, and now I buy the hardtop.
In addition to the hardtop, you also need a set of freedom panel mounts, a set of bolts for attaching the hardtop, and a wiring harness with a washer. The wiring harness itself consists of a steering wheel mount and wiring to the rear window where the washer, heater, and wiper are. As our colleagues wrote, in the back on the driver's side, when you access the rear trunk, on your left hand side you have a socket for the hardtop, and it consists of an electrical socket and a connector for the washer. You have to have this connected for everything to work.

Exactly- looks like a trip to dealer will need to be arranged..

You probably need this tool and start checking pins for voltage starting at the fuse box to make sure you have power at 21, then back to the main connector at the back of the Jeep that plugs into the hardtop.
