Just bought new 2018 Moab yesterday. I’ve driven it less than 400 miles and the back up camera won’t work when putting it into reverse and the 8.4 screen now stays in dark or night time mode. The rest of the dash lights are nice and bright, but the 8.4 screen remains dark. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

I have a Moab thats only a month old. The other day my 8.4 screen went dark and I also had no backup cam. Nothing would bring it back. I had to pull fuse F97 to get it to reboot. So far it hasn't done it since. I checked and I have the latest v.18 of Uconnect software. If it does it again I will have to take it to the dealer. Seems like it's a common thing with these JLs judging by the forum posts.

Wow, thank you for your reply! After pulling the F97 fuse it has been working great. If it happens again I will absolutely contact my dealership.

Thank you for your replies. I let my Jeep sit overnight, and I restarted in the morning with no issues.

I had a similar issue that would keep coming up randomly, so I took a few videos on my phone each time it happened and showed it to the dealer. They determined the radio needed to be replaced and installed a whole new unit. Might be worth exploring that route for you guys!

How long do you need to leave the fuse out?
@VYPUR

I found it works best for me to have the JL, running.... pull F97, leave it pulled for say 20 seconds and then put the fuse back in. UConnect is rebooted..

Hint: Mark F97 with a small spot of say white out, so you can spot it easy when you go to do the pull again. I find F97 is one you will need to pull more then any others... 8-)

If you are having Camera issues, heed this....

It is is best, to start the JL, wait a few seconds and when UConnect is up, you place the JL in reverse.
Many JL Owner's, report rear camera issues (camera not coming on, green lines, etc.) if you just start the JL and quickly place it into reverse, before UConnect has a chance to boot up.

I haven’t had any problems with it until this morning. I did the auto start with the fob and the Jeep instantantly turned it self off. It was low on gas and i forgot so the auto start canceled itself. And now the backup doesn’t work.

No worries on that... UConnect was trying to boot up when JL shut itself down quickly as your gas was low. UConnect interrupted in boot up process......so, that is why cam was affected.

You can do the fuse pull if you want or wait and after your JL is stop, started a few times the cam will start working again. You can hurry it along lets say, with the F97 fuse pull.
