I'm amazed at the number of people who said they never used their rear wiper/washer.

If you live somewhere it snows it's mandatory after a snow when the splash back ends up making the rear window opaque.

If you have a soft top, no matter how much water you use, you will end up scratching that rear window to get the road deicer/gunk off. :(
I live in Canada and it’s so bad on winter roads I’d have to keep the rear wiper on with a constant stream of washer if I wanted to see out the back window. I just use the mirrors.

He did, he bought a Wrangler with a hard top, I would expect the hard top to be fully functional, but that's just me.
He had the window sticker, it’s clearly sold as is and was never charged for the hard top upgrade.

OP bought a Wrangler with a hardtop, there is an expectation that the thing works.

OP went to use the wiper and the mechanism is missing, it's plainly obvious he was sold a pig in a bag.
I think he got the better end of the deal. Hardtops are typically thousands more than the soft tops, at least used. I thought this was a factory freak but it was simply a DIY upgrade. Consider the soft tops don't use a wiper at all. I put a hard one on mine and later sold it, never bothered with the harness. The soft top is simply easier to remove and more fun.

Not sure or why it happened. Since it wasn’t caught at purchase time. I’m not sure what can be done. I would check with dealer. Good luck on that. But something happened along the way
Yeah, the dealer took the soft top off and put on a hard top lol

But he didn’t buy a Hardtop Wrangler. The price point on the window sticker is for a Softtop only.
None the less the Op stated he bought it with 3000 miles so that would be classified as “used”. I’m sure he didn’t even pay that sticker price.
If it was a demo Jeep, like driven by a manager, they can still call it new. They would just have it be a 3 year 39k mile and 5 year 63,000 mile warranty.
Really common for a demo vehicle.

OP, I’m curious if your Jeep has the freedom panel latches? When I put a hard top on my JLURD, I had to get two L shaped items that holds the freedom panels down? Without them the rear two freedom panel handles a loose. The mopar one are crazy expensive. I got mine aftermarket.

Plus I never installed the rear wiper switch.
