Seems like I won't be able to login and view the affiliate program since I don't have a company code :( I'll just go on what you guys recommend
TL will give you the company code in the welcome letter. May take a day or two to get the welcome email after the donation.

Did you email Craig at Koons Tyson Jeep? He was very responsive with me and I was able to get a great deal.
Not yet. What are the options for delivery out of state? I'm assuming I can go pick it up or have to hire a private company to bring it down to Florida?

This is why I decided to go local and use affiliate. I figured between my time and any shipping or travel costs, the additional savings wasn’t worth it to me.

I Believe they’ll have some transport referrals you can use. Always a risk of damage in transit, of course.

Thanks for the insight. I just diid the TL donation so once I get access to FCA I'll look up some dealerships in the area and hopefully go that route.

I'm not exactly sure but I went and picked it up in person. If you email Craig I'm sure he will explain other options. Also I see you are from Florida. you could use the Amtrak auto train the dealerships is about 25-30 minutes from the DC train station.

When I ordered last year, I emailed build sheets to about 10 dealers. Most were local to me. The only replied I received were from the high volume salespersons listed in the Recommended Dealer thread. If you search my previous posts you will find a couple of responses I've made in the past about some positive recommendations. Off the top of my head, Jason Beltran at Hawk CDJR in Forest Park, IL. Another was @MinerSteve in the St Louis area and the third was that dealer in the NW (name escapes me right now).

Not sure if anything changed with all that is going on now. Local (low volume) dealers will not play ball for much less than MSRP. Which, in my research, means you'll be paying about 11% too much.

I've submitted my build to a handful of dealerships both local and recommended by the forum but haven't heard back in a week despite following up on pricing. Have you guys noticed this as well? I'm assuming the high demand of cars plus the pandemic caused some of this.

You are in Florida, right? Forget local Florida dealers. They don't want to waste time with informed buyers. Instead contact Mike Peratla at Lakeland Jeep to place your order. 11% under msrp with TL affiliate code. They are 300 miles north of me, but they may be even closer to you. I am saving $7500 plus a lower dealer fee as well.

Here's my order with him...

I sent emails to several dealers in my area and one high volume dealer 150 miles away with the same build sheet. All the ones in my city responded, but wouldn’t budge on MSRP (and one dropped the ball completely).

The high volume dealer offered me 6.6% below MSRP plus free delivery straight to my driveway. They’ve been great to work so far as they also are an AEV authorized dealer and had the lift I was considering in stock and was able to put it aside for me.

Many dealers are in full-asshole mode these days. Record profits lately, so they are ok treating potential customers like dirt. I don’t care if they just tell me it’s full MSRP. That’s fine. But many don’t respond, or laugh when you ask about a discount.

Which tells you what they really think of you! I have no interest in ever doing business with such a place, and I have a long memory.

Yep. This is the worst time in history to buy a vehicle.

Here is a perspective on savings with the affiliate program (local dealerships) and with 7% below invoice (various dealers mentioned on this site). These numbers are based on a vehicle with a sticker price of $58,610.

Affiliate program price is, $54,423

7% below invoice is, $51,125

An additional savings of $3,298. That money covers the 6% sales tax in our State.

Steve Boeckmann at Jim Butler in Linn, MO is top shelf. Drop him an email with your telephone number and go from there. [email protected]

I would disagree.

This is a terrible time to peg the ask. However, new car prices are flat or only slightly elevated for the informed shopper who is willing to wait (i.e. 7-8% off invoice on a new order w/ the volume dealers on this site).

On the other end, used car prices are at record highs. I'm getting quotes for my 2016 Wrangler Unlimited which are $6-8k higher than pre-covid.

The net round-trip cost (I.e. buy the new and sell the old) is as low as it has ever been... again, for the savvy, disciplined shopper.

Fair point. I’m taking advantage of the exact situation you mentioned to trade in my 2020 jlur with 30k Miles for a brand new 4xe. Between sky high trade in and the tax credit the cost of changing is only a couple thousand bucks , but I’m happy to wait the 8-10 weeks for a new one to be delivered.

I live in the DC area, but purchased a house in Florida in 2020. I ordered from Craig at Koons in Sept 2020 and new JLU Sport S was built and delivered in exactly 6 weeks. It was 7.5% below dealer invoice, but there is also a $900 dealer processing fee at Koons. I picked it up in person and then drove it down to my place in Florida. Craig was very easy to work with and everything was done over email and phone until I actually bought it, at which point I was in and out within 2 hours. Koons even registered the Jeep for me in Florida, although it did take them a few times to get it right. We have been waiting 8 weeks for a second Jeep (JLU Sahara) for my wife, also ordered from Craig at Koons, although the discount was (only) 6% below dealer invoice plus $900 dealer processing fee, and you need to finance with the dealer for at least 3 payments. No affiliate membership program requirement.
