I have a tazer installed, and have never seen an OTA update you might be on to something.

An easy way to determine if Tazer is causing issues is to unmarry and try to see if updates are working

I have 18k miles on mine. Last update shows 11k miles. I called Sirius today about it and one of the questions they asked me was whether I had anything plugged into the OBD port. I told them no but got to thinking maybe the Tazer interferes with the app. They asked a pile of questions and said they would get back with me.

I could pull it and check, good idea.
But, I need the Tazer and like the Uconnect app. Ugh, we’ll see

I have no issues with my app automatically updating every time I use the jeep even with my Tazer connected and married.
Do you have the first one that came out with the bypass and obdi connector?

I do, and I got the update. I *did* unplug it from the OBDII port to see if it would expedite things... hard to say if it had any effect. I did not unmarry.

Also, I have previously posted that having my original two piece plugged in was blocking my vehicle health reports from being sent. Well, wouldn’t you know I got one just an hour ago and my Tazer is plugged in and married?

Point is... inconclusive. Personally, I would just pull it out just before you turn off Jeep. Plug back in before starting. One of these days you’ll get the update when you shutdown the Jeep... in another thread someone said UConnect updates get rolled out state by state. NY and CT were first.

My JL has had a Tazer for six months; it did an OTA last week.

I've owned my 2019 JLUR for about 1 year and 9 months and got the first and only U connect update that I'm aware of about two weeks ago Not sure if that is normal or not. My Jeep has nothing connected to the OBD port.

OTA updates seem to work fine with Tazer installed, however my Uconnect vehicle health reports rarely (if ever) made it to the app. There is a pretty lengthy thread about this topic on here somewhere.

Yeah, I remember posting to that one. Since yesterday morning I have received THREE identical health reports all sent at different times during the day. ?‍♂

@tonygiotta

This thought, that the Tazer JL blocks UConnect downloads and Health Reports, has been dis-proven (thanks to owner feedback on this forum) multiple/many times, over the last 3 years..

And, if a guy/gal does his/her homework on this... and still has doubts.... take the Tazer JL out of the picture......

Leave the Tazer JL married and pull the hardware.... and remember to reattach the 2 cables at the gateway..

No I have the Tazer JL mini, which is one piece and connects to the 2 sgw harnesses.

edit: I’d like to add that in the past when I had Metromile insurance for a few months, I had the Metromile device plugged into the obd2 port and those few months that it was plugged in, I would not get any updates on my Uconnect app at all. Once I removed that device from the obd2 port, my Uconnect app updates started working again even though my Tazer was connected.
