I have a 2018 JLU Sahara, with 59500 miles. Dealer is offering $26500 which seems pretty low to me?

I sold my 2022 JLR with less than 30k miles for $32k and change a couple months ago. $26,500 is more than I would pay for a 2018. Six years old and 60k miles...seems $22k - 24k is about right.

We paid $35K roughly for our 18 JLU-S about 2 summers ago with 60K on it.

Value of the trade also depends on what comes back for accidents on a CarFax report. Ours will be crap when we trade because we were hit and took $17K in damages. We also got about $5K for a diminished value claim on it though so I would be too upset at trade in time.

The days of trading in a Wrangler you owned for five years, beat the crap out of, put a ridiculous amount of miles on, and eating less than $5k from what you paid for at the shadiest dealership are long gone.

Like folks have said-pretty good deal. Vehicles are, at best, depreciating assets. During the pandemic stupidity folks lost their minds and paid crazy $$ for used vehicles (primarily because “new” was almost non existent). Things are slowing returning to normal normal, where starting your new one and driving it around the block will cost you 5% of what you pad for it.

yeah $26k is pretty good for an almost 7-year-old midsize SUV. If I could get $30k for my 2021 right now i'd be impressed.

None... but it pays well.
I think it is a good trade in value. Look at jeep wrangler sales. They are stagnant. No sales will lower expectations. Example my 2019 Rubicon 2 door just at 80k on odo, with every option but winch and larger wheels and tires sold to me for less than $29,000. Remember dealers must make some money to keep in biz. Market value dictates what people are willing to buy. Wranglers are a niche market. 4 doors are a dime a dozen IMO. Dealers can't get rid of them fast enough. Watch autotrader or cars.com... do your homework notice how many Wranglers are available and notice trim levels. Low trim levels are easier to resell when they have a lower resale cost to the new owner. Plus most have been upgraded at some point. That is why I chose my Rubicon. Not much done to it by original owner and needs very little done to meet my needs. Compare it to a 2024 Rubicon X with same engine and tranny, I got pretty much the same deal at half the price. I never looked at 2018 Wranglers, because it is a screwy year. Many newbies like me who may expect all 2018s to be a JL or a JK be because they only see what is being pushed by dealers. A smart buyer will not look at a 2018 because very few JL models are a available and they are a year older, when dealers will not mark them down as such. Why buy a 2018 JL when you can buy a 2019 JL at the same price? Go figure?

I guess I thought wranglers held their value better and I consider 60k to be low miles for a 6 year old vehicle.
They did come up to 27k, thanks for the comments.

Eh 60k miles isn’t that low. 10k per year. A bit less than average but by no means garage queen mileage. Take the $27k and run. Your Jeep is 6 years old. You can get them brand new all day long for 20% off MSRP.

I just traded mine in, 2018 JL, Silver, 3 piece hard top, including original bag for freedom panels, Best Top sun rider, RSE Drop down steps, 3.6, in perfect condition, new (less than 500 miles) Boss AT Mcky T's 35/12.5/17, Towing package (lights and connections), fully loaded Sahara package at 42K miles, and I got $29,500. I could have sold myself for more, but then the headache of actually selling it. Now I'm driving a 392, they gave me 8% of MRSP (would have gotten 9% but I didn't join the Tread Lightly club 30 days in advance). So, I gave them a Jeep I LOVE, and got a Jeep I REALLY LOVE. The 24 392 is the best Jeep I've ever owned.

Better compared to what? They are still one of the best for holding value. This isn't 2 years ago when the used market was in high demand and used cars with 40-60k miles were selling for nearly the new car price (which is what led me to buying my jeep brand new). The new vehicle market is way over saturated right now, Jeff Wyler CDJR here south east of Columbus has something like 100+ wranglers on the lot right now.
