Tpms sensor compatibility

I have a 2018 Rubicon Jl and recently acquired a set of 2021 Rubicon takeoffs with sensors,,will the tpms sensors on the 2021 wheels be compatible with my 2108 Or do I need to swap them? Thanks for any input

If the 21 was built before 6/5/21 they will work on an 18. If not then they will not.

Easy enough to try and check. Install the wheels on your Jeep to 37 psi and drive. If the wheels are already apart they just check the sensor. If it is a Schrader brand it will work. If it is a Continental then it won’t. If you post a pic I can tell you which you have. I assume the wheels are already together so I would just install them and drive. You will know within a block if they are working.

Now if you want to be sure for sure and can get the owner of the 21 to give you his VIN you can call a Jeep dealer and give them his VIN and ask for the TPMS part # With that part number you will know. If it ends in 9096 then they will not work in your 18.

That is a continental sensor and will not work in your 18. The good news is you are holding gold. Sell that set and it will fund your needed set no problem.

They are worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Right now, those sensors you have are on national backorder and most tire shops are having a hard time getting them.

If you plan to sell them, you need to find the right market for them. Listing them on FB or CL will not net you good results. List them here and on the Gladiator forum and your DM will blow up.

Well they are about $30-$35 from a dealer plus tax but as mentioned above on national backorder.

You could sell them quickly I would assume for all 5 for $130 - $150. A new set of 29093 at www.tpmsbargains.com with a "5% off" code will be about $140
