Hi all. I recently bought 5 new fuel wheels and 37 nittos. I went to a local shop and asked if they could transfer my factory TPMS to my new wheels. They said the factory TPMS are wrap arounds and when they break it, it would no longer work. They request I buy new TPMS from the dealership.

Is this true? I read somewhere on the forums that many of you guys can transfer factory TPMS to new wheels without any issues.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm trying to avoid a trip to the dealership tomorrow.

My build is Dec 21. Did you go to a specialize place for Jeeps? I went to a local BP shop haha.

Please run from that place if they are saying that. They have no business touching a while and tire if they are saying that. Band sensors haven’t been around for 10 years and they were only on Fords.

Yes you can swap TPMS sensors. Only thing recommended is to install new stems about $1 each.

I'm assuming Dec of 20?

No, Discount tire tried to install aftermarket and failed. After some research they refunded the charge and took them off my old wheels and put them into my methods. Lots of info on another thread but basically sounds like Jeep switched sensors in June and there are no aftermarket solutions that work for the ones installed between June and now just yet.

@letank

DO , do listen to @Goin2drt ! ..... and do, do, in regard to your 2021 JL... keep your stock TPMS's and have them transferred to your new wheels... or you may truly regret not doing so. Get new valve stems only

Here is a pic of a wheel with the TPMS installed.. installed just like on your stock JL wheel.

This. There are no band sensors on your wheels.
