Backstory...I started to rotate the tires and I got as far as moving the spare to the driver's rear before I destroyed my back. It was all I could do to get those 2 wheels/tires mounted. Took it to Discount Tire to finish the rotation and to replace the TPMS sensor that was in the spare as it was dead. Figure this out on the first drive after the 2 wheel swap. They got the rotation done and the sensor replaced. On the drive home, the light went out and the pressure for the drivers rear started to display properly. Shortly after that, the light came back on flashing and eventually goes solid.

Back to Discount Tire. They verified with their TPMS machine that all 5 sensors are reporting good. Dropped the pressure in the 4 by 10psi and the dash reports the correct psi. Inflated to the correct psi but the light won't change. Starts blinking and moves to solid at startup. They suggested taking it to the dealer.

I don't own any tool to scan but I can get something if needed. Seems like this should be a pretty easy process...but I guess having the word discount in your company name might be a bad thing...hey they did the tire rotation for free and charged me like $68 for the sensor and programming (maybe that was a bad deal at this point)

What are my options here? I have put at least 45 miles on it since this was all done.

Thanks in advance.

Double-check the TPMS is the tire that is now in the spare position. Literally just got done reading a post on the Ram truck forum (i.e. same company....) that had the exact same issues and it was a bad spare TPMS.

I watched them verify each tire including the spare. They refunded me my money and I just bought an OBD2 bluetooth adapter, security cable and jscan. I guess this should get me somewhere (hopefully)

My son came home from college for Easter and took his girlfriend out to dinner. While driving maybe an additional 20 miles the light reset itself. That means there was probably close to 70 miles driven with likely 60 of them at interstate speeds. No idea what/if there was an actual problem or not, but it got sorted out.

I had already contacted Discount Tire about the issue again and they decided refunding my cost for the sensor was easier then actually attempting to answer why they change sensors on a Jeep when they don’t have the necessary equipment to reset the TPMS system.

My Bluetooth adapter and security cable have arrived so I am at least prepared for the next issue
