I purchased 5 tpms sensors from ebay. 4 of them worked flawlessly for over a week. I then rotated tires with my spare and that 5th sensor was dead.

I took the tire to discount tire to have them install a sensor. They insisted that the 2020s are different than others, and they had to find one that their coder would code to a 2020. This is warning sign #1.

I leave the parking lot and drive 5 miles. The tire at driver front was the on replaced and showed missing. The driver rear was originally reading fine.

During the 5 miles, the rear went to 2psi, then jumped to 35psu, and moved to the front. The rear on display remained missing and then came online at 2psi, then 30psi. I know the front was really 30, and rear really 35.

So issue is the sensor is reading, but in wrong position.

Further my tpms light will not go out. I have set all tires to 37 to make sure its not the tazer causing issue, still shows tpms light. I have set tazer to 30psi, lowered all tires, and still same result. No tire is red or flashing, just showing tpma light in dash with flashing every so often.

Is it possible that the sensor will show a reading, but not be the proper sensor and cause this error?

Your vehicle is getting confused by the spare. Go and take off your spare. Leave it in the garage and go drive around to get the four corner sensors reading properly. They should all wake up and start reading at the correct corner. Then go put on your spare that will go to sleep since it isn’t spinning and trying to get read.

This is all of course if your TPMS is working properly. PM me if you need more help. Cheers.
