Totaled 2023 4xe?

Hello all!

I’ve had my 2023 Sahara 4xe for 6 months… Friday we were in an accident! On a highway and someone pulled out in front of us. Curious if anyone believes this’ll be totaled. The officer on scene believes the engine block is cracked due to leaking fluids but not sure.

I'm not an insurance adjuster but if the block is cracked, my guess is they will total it.

I hope everyone was OK, the jeep can be replaced.

Tough to tell from the pictures. How hard were you hit? There are a lot of other fluids that could have been leaking that wouldn’t necessarily indicate anything being wrong with the engine block.

Thankfully my husband, kids, and I walked away. We were going about 60 when they failed to yield and pulled out in front of us. Couldn’t avoid hitting them!

I know bumpers are meant to give way but they should at least protect the sensitive parts in accidents >35 mph.
Just curious if you had the safety package?

If this is the fluid the officer was referring to he’s wrong and needs to stick to law enforcement.
Hard to tell the extent to which your Jeep is damaged from these photos and everyone is quick to say “it’s totaled”. That is not always the case.

If it has a lithium battery and it gets a dent, it’s totaled.

I have seen a few people post with repair bills over 25k and surprisingly not totaled.

I do not think it is totalled since it looks like it can be repaired. But sometimes insurance companies total a vehicle if the repair cost is within a certain percentage of the vehicles value.

I highly doubt the engine block is cracked. The coolant reservoirs are on the drivers side. However, I have see insurance companies total vehicles with less damage so it is hard to say. People are such shithead drivers. I’ve been almost hit multiple times like this. I really hate idiot drivers.
