Help me out guys. I have pretty much decided on tires, milestar Patagonia MT. Right now I am torn between sizes 285/70r17 and 295/70r17. Either would be mounted on stock sport aluminum wheels. Cost difference is about 130 more for all 5 in the 295s.

Jeep is an Unlimited Sport and will be sitting on 2” dynatrac springs. 2.0l, 8spd, 3.45 gears.

Give me some pros and cons.

I run the Pats in a 295/70/17 on a 2" Rubicon suspension swap. Fit at the fender is good w/ my 8.5 +10 offset wheels, w/ your 7.5 +44 wheels you'll be in from my set by 1.3", so you may have contact in the inner fender/suspension area at full flex.
Here's the specs of my set vs the same tires on stock wheels
https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wh...-17X7.5ET44&fcl=2in&wcl=1.25in&scl=2in&sr=0in
And here's my fit at the fender stock, then w/ new wheels/tires before the Rubi suspension swap, and in it's current state :)
FWIW I wouldn't get Patagonias again, a tire that's ok at most things but not excellent at anything. If they had better tread wear the price point would make it more of a deal, but I'd recommend paying 30% more for a tire that performs much better and lasts twice as long :)

Looks great. How’s the mileage and power been on the 295s?

Any opinion on mastercraft mxt or Cooper evolution mt?

Not too much of a hit, about 2mpg, still get up to 23 mpg running 70 on the hwy. I'm getting a Tazer Lite next week so this should help w/ that. Acceleration is still fine but braking performance probably been affected the most. I will be getting Powerstop Z36 pads for better bite as the stock pads aren't really great at stopping, they are a low dusting high mile pad :(

Mastercraft is Coopers second tier brand, still a quality tire but the Cooper Evolution should be a step up from that, and the Cooper STT Pros are about as good as it gets :)

Probably end up with the Cooper evo mt than as I can get them cheaper than the mastercraft.

ordered everything forthe JScan this morning so I will be able to get the computer happy right away. Figured I was happy with the Forscan on the wife’s navigator so why not go the more cost effective route.

Well after doing some research looks like the evo mt is a rebadged mastercraft and about 30k max on the tread life.

Any recommendations on the 295/70r17 front?

Well did some talking with the wife, she said to get the 295s. Then crunched some mileage numbers and looked at some other tires. We are going to go with the ridge grapplers so I can hopefully get 3 years out of a set rather than a little over a year.

I am liking the idea of a hybrid as 95% of the time I don’t need a MT.
