I just bought Sahara wheels, 7.5 x 18" for my wife's 2018 Wrangler JL SPORT S. I want to replace the 17" wheels and tires that came stock on the jeep. What size tires can I get away with without modifying anything, 255/70 R 18,s? Can I go any high/wider without sticking out past the fenders or looking stubid??

Thanks gents

People have been putting on Rubicon take off tires on their Sports without problems (285/70r17), as for 18" wheels, I currently have 275/70/r18 and they barely sit flush with the fenders. No rubbing. If you are willing to add a lift, you can go up to a 295 without problems.

255/70R-18 works - you can move up to a 33-inch tall tire as well such as 275/70R-18 which is about an inch wider when compared to 255/70R-18.

Here's the link to the tire options Discount Tire Direct offers in this size:

If I can hijack the thread for a second; can I put 35's on my stock Rubicon rims? No spacers, no lift, just straight-up 35's on stock rims, link? Thanks.

Hi, Midding-

On a Rubicon trim level yes you can, though you may (stress may) need wheel spacers to avoid rubbing on suspension components at near full steering wheel lock. Also bear in mind you will likely have some rubbing off-road at full articulation of the suspension.

Here's a thread I found from google: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/315-70-17-tires-on-my-stock-rubi-wheels.4296/

To touch on wheel spacers real quick, we do not recommend these as we feel proper offset wheels are the better solution. Wheel spacers are one more link in the chain so to speak that could potentially fail (spacer bolted to the hub and then bolting on the wheel).
