I have a 2019 wrangler sport unlimited with 17 inch passenger tires. Psi for the tires is 36. I recently put 17 inch LT tires on my jeep. They are rated 80 psi. Do I run the new tires at 36 psi or more?

Those are going to ride rougher. I'd start at 32-34

The load capacity of a tire follows the concept of max air pressure (80) and volume.
A tire that can manage 80psi, is going to be heavy in nature and have stiffer sidewalls.

Those are perfect for a heavy truck (3/4 ton pickup) or equipment trailer, but will ride unnecessarily rough on city streets. I don't know what brand you bought, but the above is from years of ownership of diesel trucks, trailers, and about 15 Jeeps.

Should have bought load range C. Look up your new tire on the manufacturers website to find your tires load chart. Weigh your fully loaded Jeep front axle and rear axle. The load chart will tell you what you need to know. Or get some chalk and experiment with that method. Search chalk on this forum.

If a recent purchase, you might see if the dealer will trade them out. Might cost you a few bucks, but they might allow it. There's nothing unsafe about your tires, just you have a nice Jeep and ought to have an enjoyable ride for the life of the tire.
