i will be getting tires for summer, looming at 33 12. 17. First question, will 12.5 fit without rubbing?

Can I adjust tire size with JSCAN and revoe it from the jeep after changing tire size?

Thanks.

12.5" wide tires on factory wheels?

I'm not 100% but at full turn or full flex I think that will be awfully close. Other options: New wheels with more back spacing, wheel spacers, a skinnier tire.

Yes, you can change your tire size with a Jscan and it will recalibrate the speedo.

I have had to use wheel spacers (2”) when I bumped up to 35x12.50 on stock 7.5” wheels. At full lock I was rubbing the LCAs without them.

Just an update, they will be aftermarket wheels, not sure on specs yet. Could always go with a little narrower.

I was reasonably certain a 12.5" wide tire on the factory wheel might rub. It might be OK on the Rubicon with wider axles.

If you don't want to change your wheels or add wheel spacers you certainly could just purchase a skinny tire. I did. 👍

No sir; 12.5 on my JLUR still rubbed.

Sweet! What size are they? Do you have a sideshot?

Oh wow! That's right, I forgot you have a Rubicon. My bad bro 👍
John Boy, when we first started interacting on this forum, I had a JLU Sport only, so it’s understandable, brother! Now we have the Rubi and the Sahara - which, by the way, is the same as a Sport S.

It's rough for me to keep up with sleep these days, let alone everyone's jeep. 🤣

Nothing wrong with pizza cutters. Most people like the wider tires, I get it. Get what you like.

I think this tire size may be growing in popularity. I'm noticing quite a few more tire options now than 3 years ago.

255/80r17
Falken Wildpeak $322
Nitto Ridge $301
Nitto Recon $284
Goodyear Duratrac $327
BF Goodrich KT $329
Venom X/T $212
Firestone MT $329
Toyo MT $379
Yokohama $352

I don't know anything about the Venom tire but it has 5 star reviews and the price is right. Interesting.
