I just brought my JLU in to my local dealership for an oil change as I have one free one left and I asked if they had time to program the Jeep for the bigger tire size. I was told that they don’t do calibration on aftermarket wheels. They are nitto ridge grapplers and I feel like are a common tire. Has anyone else been turned away like this for what should be a software update?

Agreed. This guy doesn't sound like someone i would let work on the Jeep.

I have two dealerships near me and I drive to the further one because the service department is great.

Couple things that help. I try to know what I'm taking about before I get there. I do trust their professional opinions.

I also learned from @wibornz that a box of donuts for the service team goes a long way!

Hey that’s not a bad idea! There’s a Dunkin not too far from another one of my local dealers here. I get a lot of good info from the people on here.

The size or type has nothing to do with them being able to program. They were just being lazy. It's an hour labor charge. Most dealerships are $150-$250 to do it. I hate dealerships that do shit like that, cause then everyone acts like all dealers are that way. We would've happily done it. Maybe not the same day. Depends on how busy they are.

That’s the route I’m starting to lean towards. I’m starting to trust the dealership less these days.
Don't even go down that road with the dealer. IF...they were willing to help, they're going to charge you a ridiculous fee
As mentioned, get a Jscan or Tazer and take care of it yourself. Besides the calibration, they offer a lot of other benefits.

JSCAN is the cheapest way to go and you'll learn a thing or 50 about your Jeep. As a bonus, you will have a code reader/clearer device.

JSCAN will let you lower the TPMS alert threshold from around 33 psi to any pressure, down to 25 psi. That will be important for your 35" tires.

just had mine calibrated at the Dealer. $140.

I have 37's and aftermarket wheels.

Corrected my Speedo and shift points. Been getting 17mpg again on 4.88's

Which version of the JScan do you have? I have a 23 JLU and it looks like there’s a couple different kinds
