Just ordered some of the 303. I was using the pig spit on my Harley for a long time, a friend of mine recommended trying pledge furniture polish instead. that was about 5 years ago and I have been using it ever since, looks the same, lasts just as long, cost less, and the bike smells fresh and clean!

My main use for the Pig Spit on my '01 Harley Fatboy is for use on the heads. I have over 65,000 mi. on the Fatboy and the heads..... the black color looks the same as the day I brought that new Fatboy01 home.. No way "Pledge" would have done the same...

Yes, I use the Pig Spit on other / many spots on the HD.

Thats exactly where I use it on my street glide,2012 with 52K on it so I do ride it a bit. Havenā€™t used anything but pledge on it in at least 5 years. I do the heads, the case, and even use it on the enforcer wheel centers. I will get you some pictures when I get a chance, bike looks like the day I bought it.

What you are using is fine... As long as you clean and protect. I use the Pig Spit cause I have the splined lugs...

Ok, lets move on.... we talked cleaning wheels and tires... Now, I want to talk to you about painting your muffler black... I shake my head and say geeeez, that looks like chitt, everytime another JL or a JK passes me by with their shiny silver color stock muffler.... 8-)

I use Krylon High Heat Black Spray Paint on the muffler and tail pipe. Have been using same on multiple JK's since 2007 and now the JL.

Never any issues with the paint burning off or discoloring.

Clean up /wash the muffler and tailpipe good and let it dry. Then I take some steel wool and go over all. Then I either wipe all down with rubbing alcohol or paint thinner. Then I paint.

As for the paint..... I spray a light coat, wait say 5 minutes and then spray a second light coat. Spray light coats as needed to get a good black covering.

I do wash off the painted muffler and tail pipe routinely.

I probably respray the paint twice a year just to keep it looking fresh.

No need to remove muffler to paint. Just use some newspaper, cardboard to block over spray to the JL's chassis, etc.. DO, do cover gthe shock tubes well.

Lay a sheet, old blanket, etc., under the rear of the JL to catch overspray if you do in the garage or nice surface..

.

Ordered mine yesterday on Amazon and all I can say is my tires needed at this point.

Just wondering if it's worth using on the hood Vince and other rubber items are better off to stick with my turtle wax ceramic spray on things like that?

Mine actually came in today and I tried it out. This may be my new go to for tires and trim. I wiped it dry on the tires with a microfiber and then used the damp rag and wiped it on the mirrors, handles, flares, and the bumpers. Gave everything a nice clean black look.

Kudos to @Rhinebeck01!

Love the look as it's just enough and not too glossy looking or over the top.

And here is a few pictures of the bike using the ā€œpledgeā€ itā€™s been sitting since October in my shop uncovered, last time I applied it was probably just before Sturgis last year so early August.

Yes I just got the smaller 16 oz spray bottle for now through the subscribe and save but definitely planning to get a gallon of it also using subscribe and save for further discount.

I was using some low gloss stuff from Griotā€™s garage before on the tires. It was so so. I definitely think Iā€™m going to order a gallon of this 303 stuff.

Looks like mine should be here tomorrow can't wait to try it out. Just wondering at this point whether to use it on the hood vents as well or stick with my turtle wax ceramic spray at this point?

It streaks the paint a little I would probably stick with the ceramic spray. I use Jax Wax Hawaiian shine.
