I have been trying to get a set of 4 tire deflaters that work. The ones I have only lasted a few times and won’t stay adjusted anymore. I even took them apart and tried to clean them. I would like some recommendations on ones that work and not a waste of money. I checked Amazon and it wasn’t any help. What is working for you?

I have Over-Sand tire deflators. I have used Staun and Coyote tire deflators with good results, but there are no reference marks so I would use a black sharpie to make a line as a reference to try to fine tune adjustments. Even if the Over-Sand deflators are not 100% accurate out of the box they seem consistent and repeatable across the 4 deflators.

For example setting them all to 12 PSI might show 12.3 to 12.5 taking into account my AutoMeter, Morrflate and Jaco tire gauges aren’t 100% accurate. But you have reference marks to make very small adjustments on the deflator.

This deflator pictured is set to 12 PSI with 10 at the top ring and +2 at the bottom. It’s far less complex than me trying to explain it.

I use rhino USA deflators like yours. No reference marks either. But they seem to stay pretty good if you lock them down with the lock ring. But I’m not smart enough to set all 4 up so I use 1 and just move it to the other tires because I always forget to/how to adjust the others and when I think about it it’s usually trail time. And now that I’m thinking about it I’ll probably look it up and go out and fix them all.

I use these, they work. I have them set at 18 psi, all four deflate to the correct psi. Just screws on, and by the time the last is on, the first is ready to be removed.

I have a set of Staun. But switched to a Jaco rapid deflator purely for the reason some times I don’t want to drop the tire psi to the 10 psi the Staun are set at.

What method do you use to set your deflators?

Tried Staun and spent a fair amount of time setting them to match. Went to use them and one was not closing and would have let all the air out. Haven’t used them since.

Went back to pulling the core and listening to the sound change when I was close.

Are they fairly accurate? The Stauns were a PITA to set up, and one is off. I also air down quite a bit differently depending on the trail, so that flexibility would be awesome.

I haven’t adjusted them since I set them. Setting any of these up is a lesson in patience for me so I usually just leave them alone. As @Rotsam said, using a bicycle (or wheelbarrow) tire would be a time saver on setup.

On a side note I think the forum is having a meltdown because I got a notification you quoted me but your post is actually quoting @Rotsam. And if I hover over @Rotsam's username in the post my profile comes up.

Either that or @Rotsam and I switched bodies somehow and maybe he's actually the one who came back from Texas all those months ago. 😂
