That is 100% the fault of the ESS function.

that's got door hinge corrosion written all over it

Obviously a case of a faulty cup holder causing bubbles in the hinge plate which shorted the Aux battery during an ESS event which slashed your tire.

You're damn lucky you didn't break your windshield!

Check fuse # 63. If it's blown, wrap some tin foil around the contacts, should fix it.
