We ordered our new JLU Rubicon. We are seriously considering Line-X for the exterior. Anyone have any insight they could share with us?

Are you changing the color of the jeep you ordered with line-x?

I have Line-X in the bed of my pickup and it still looks good after 8 years! Line-X comes in different colors. Im not sure I would use it as an exterior color but it is tuff stuff! Line-X has a display of an aluminum can sprayed with the stuff and the challenge is to try to crush the coated can. I have tried many times without leaving a dent in the can.

That does not include top or fenders?
No, as the top and fenders are stock black plastic, not the body colored option. But it would include the steel bumpers.

I have line-x on my Power Wagon side steps...they've taken a heap of abuse and still look like new. Its a great coating...just keep in mind that if you do your entire vehicle, you will be adding a fair amount of extra weight, which will impact both fuel economy and payload. On the upside, you will never have to worry about hail, dinged doors, rock chips, or scratches from branches and debris on the trail. Good luck...post pics if you get it done!

The total weight addition is negligible at about 100 lbs.

From a dealer in Iowa, $4700.
your jeep dealer or line-x dealer?

I have seen a few done in person from Starwood and they were done very well, although I dont like some of their builds.
Because of my OCD on details of this kind of stuff, I would want every door jam and anything else done in line-x where paint use to be.

This is a quote from a Line-X dealer. Like you, I would also want door jams done. I just would not do the interior, as I have seen done as well. For us that is a bit extreme. But, when I open the door, I want to see the body color the same up to the rubber seals. As for the inside of the hood, that is negotiable. I would have to talk with Line-X about that. But being that the factory color is black, it might be pretty awesome.

Agree with this. That is why I asked what color you ordered. I think black will be fine with the purple. any other original color would drive me crazy.
