The power box that was supposed to come with all 24 4xe's actually doesn't. It comes with Rubicons, not sure about other trims or if it is even all Rubis. If you see the delete on a window sticker, it might mean that the power box isn't compatible with that particular jeep. People are pretty pissed about it, as I would be. There's a thread about it here.

What would NOT having the Power Box mean in terms of using the Jeep?

I vote keep the mini and find a cheap, two door jk with roll up windows and hardly any add ons so you can focus on just wheeling the poop out of it.

Then it would essentially be like a 21-23 4xe. The power box plugs into the charging port and provides 4x 110v AC outlets capable up to I believe 30A. It's useful if you need to use power tools, run some electronics while camping, etc without needing a separate battery system. If you don't plan on powering a bunch of electronics while away from the power grid, then you likely wouldn't notice it's absence.

Yep. I'd love to have a power box for my 22, especially here in hurricane country. With a full battery and full gas tank, you'd have a pretty decent generator for a while.

If you're at all interested in a power box, I'd do some research to find out if the delete means you don't have the capability at all (just like the 21-23's). If not interested, then the delete is no big deal.

Yeah. That's what I am leaning towards.

There is a 2022 Willys Sport 6-speed, soft top, with 2,700 miles at a dealer near me. I am waiting for the weather to abate so I can go check it out.

Since you tend to focus on driving fun, it seems like a two-door would be up your alley.

I'm also considering a 4xe.
Meeting with an associate at my preferred dealer. I asked for an associate well versed in the 4xe, definitely skeptical.

What would be your top 5 questions to ask to test their knowledge?

It's probably better to do your own research than to waste time testing their knowledge.

Every thing you need to know is available online.

the most important thing about the 4xe is if it suits your driving habits, and what are your expectations.

I have definitely been doing my own research.

My two issues with 4Xe’s were nothing the salesmen would even want to discuss.

Namely:
  1. 4Xe’s spotty reliability. Roughly half of those on here LOVE their 4Xe; the other half doesn’t. That’s not an acceptable ratio to me. Especially because my local Jeep dealer is completely useless. I’d be totally screwed if I ended stuck having those sons of bitches work on my Jeep
  2. Compromised cargo storage. The battery takes up the space underneath the rear seat and leaves a 6-inch hump on the cargo floor
I liked everything else about 4Xe: how it drove, felt, etc. The Jeep crawled around traffic in EV mode even with a depleted battery. That was pretty cool.
