Okay fellow Jeepers, I have a mystery. Today, when I shut my front passenger side door after loading some items on the front seat, I heard the sound of something plastic hitting the garage floor. After a quick check, I found the following mystery cap sitting on the floor underneath the Jeep by the front driver side tire. Since I was getting ready to leave for work, I didn't have the time/opportunity to get underneath and figure out where it goes. Everything started and ran okay, but I would still like to figure out where this piece goes so that it can go back to its home, so to speak.

Yes, I Googled the number inside the cap in the hopes that it would be a part number, but alas, it was just the type of plastic; nothing more.

Any help you fine folks can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Good suggestion. Mine is an automatic, and it did fall in that general area, but I didn't have time to take a thorough look underneath with a flashlight. Now I have a start of where to look. Thanks!

Further proof that Jeep people are awesome! Thanks a million -- I'll get it re-installed when I get home tonight and have a flashlight handy.

I routed my GMRS antenna cable through that plug. Might be a little tight to access, but you'll see the hole (from the clutch mechanism) pretty easily. Shine a flashlight at your pedals and look from the engine bay if you're having trouble.

I gotta say I’m a little disappointed that this was solved so easy. No time for goofy fun answers. No one suggested it was a rectal thermometer alignment tool or a horis filter in the backulator.
You missed your chance this time, but it will come again!

And here I was secretly hoping that it was a thermal discombobulater or some hidden laser beams that I could shoot out the grill slots when people cut me off on the interstate. ;)

After some choice words and scraped knuckles this morning, I got the little fella back home. What a total pain in the arse that was...and I have small hands, too! The things we do for a vehicle we love.

They are typically a super pain to remove. You got lucky, it popped out on its own ?

Well, lucky me! ? And here I was going to ask if these little buggers make a habit of just popping out!
