Right away I tell people (family, friends, neighbors) that it is loud, overpriced, handles bumps like a shopping cart, steering is more of a suggestion than a reality, consumes gas like a Sherman tank, and is about as reliable as a crackhead. I bought it because the dealership has photos of me doing indiscreet things.

There, I think I hit all your talking points.

Pretty good - and surely hits many of us in the "drivers seat" - but he didn't mention the duck thing.

My "fun car" were Corvettes for many years. I traded my last one for my Jeep Wrangler 2 door. I can drive the Wrangler year around and not have to park it for 5 months. I can take the wife and dog with extra gear. It scoots around town easily. I can covert it into a convertible quickly. I can take it off the beaten path anytime. It has become my daily driver and "fun car". To me that is practical and I do all of the above with a smile on my face.

I just have to say that I appreciate the Mojito representation in that video. :)

(Not as much as Sarge or 1941, and rightfully so, but I didn't see any Tuscadero in there.)

What I love the most about our jeeps is that we could have a BMW M3 parking next to us and still we look down and think… “what a piece of trash 😌 my car would crush that happy meal toy” lol

… and trust me, the bimmer owner can feel our alpha confidence 🤣

I didn't have the patience to watch past the explanation of the off-road syndrome.

Just a guess, but I expect the video did not address the idea that a Wrangler is often the most practical vehicle for those who live in a rural environment with many unpaved, under-maintained roads, some of which are loaded with mountain switchbacks, and who also use their vehicle for off-road chores, as well as for reliable transportation in harsh winter conditions. Not too many of those owners, and at least some won't have the patience see the whole video. Still, thanks for the interesting thread.

I thought it was pretty on point. Especially the "Jeep community" bit.

Besides really enjoying how they drive, ...
Don't you mean you put up with how they drive?

I really enjoyed how my Miata drove. I put up with how my Wrangler drives for many of the reasons listed in the video.

When I was a teenager just learning to drive, I was asked to deliver a 1960's something truck out to a friend's house. The rough feel, clanking metal, road noise, and connection to the road was thrilling - and a Wrangler is the closest modern thing I can get to that.

For some reason, a really smooth car on long trips just puts me to sleep but the Wrangler keeps me engaged and I feel fine after a long day. I wouldn't mind more precise steering though.
