There are no rocks & boulders in South Florida. But there are curbs...I was stopped dead in traffic a month ago...after a few minutes of not moving, I drove up over the curb, U-turned, down over the other curb and was out of there...beautiful. I have a C8 Corvette & a BMW Z4 in my warehouse but they only come out occasionally to circulate the oil & keep the tires from flat-spotting. They can't drive over curbs...

How about the fact that cities full of potholes every driver is crying and dodging them, but us, “can’t wait to find another pothole and feel my solid axle and huge tires dominating over it!” 🤣
Now that I live up north, this isn't so much of an issue, as folks up here know all about snow. But back when I was living in Virginia, it was so nice to NOT be one of the ones freaking out every time it snowed (and ending up on the shoulder).

I remember one day it snowed two feet and I was the only one who showed up for work.

When I was a teenager just learning to drive, I was asked to deliver a 1960's something truck out to a friend's house. The rough feel, clanking metal, road noise, and connection to the road was thrilling - and a Wrangler is the closest modern thing I can get to that.

For some reason, a really smooth car on long trips just puts me to sleep but the Wrangler keeps me engaged and I feel fine after a long day. I wouldn't mind more precise steering though.
Ok, so you really enjoy how horribly they drive. Understood.

Dunno, I've been daily driving Wranglers for over 35 years, I have zero issues with the way they drive on road, city or highway, most of those years were with a manual, until 2019, I don't off-road, I do light trails occasionally, but I'm mostly driving on urban streets that are full of potholes, and other issues.

I'm guessing people that daily drive IFS vehicles might have a problem with the way the Wrangler handles on road.

My neighborhood has Lamborghinis, R8s, and other sports cars. I live in Oklahoma so the roads are... well, there are Jeep Badges of Honor for some of the roads. I laugh when someone pulls out and has to wait for a car to pass before they go so that they can get in the middle of the road. I just power through. :CWL:

By the way, there's a basketball player with a Lamborghini and one with an R8. How in the hell do they get in and out of those things????

There are some obvious good points in the vid. (1) it’s not about whether you will use all the capabilities of a Jeep; it’s all about you can (2) yes, a community of like minded folks is an important thing especially in these days, there is so much ‘it’s all about me’ and not enough ‘let me help you out with that’. So many people these days have never felt the deep down gratification of helping others; and the bonus is when you’re helping another Jeep owner you are enjoying the task just as much because you are on the same wavelength. You never see Prius owners doing a “pinky wave” but you see many parking in the same parking lot as you with your lifted Rubi; with the Prius owners being ships that pass in the night. Not so much with Jeep owners; I’ve flashed the Jeep wave to many Jeep owners in the parking lot. Yes, I’ve always liked and enjoyed camaraderie and fellowship, being raised on a farm, neighbors helped neighbors; that natural experience extended to my brothers and sisters in the AF which of many I keep in touch with today. Since I discovered this forum it’s been enjoyable participating in the digital camaraderie and I can tell all of you folks are as we used to call folks “the real deal”. Thanks to all for putting up with my dissertation. Happy Jeeping my friends!
This vid makes several obvious good points. It’s not about whether you will use all capabilities; the point is you can. That’s called diversification. For me it’s also about the camaraderie; you never see anyone driving a Prius give another Prius driver the “pinky finger wave”! Yes, Jeep owners are a club with dues paid when you sign that contract at the dealer, no additional requirements needed. Then, even if you’re just parking in a parking lot or on the trail we acknowledge that bond. Being raised on a farm and later on in my AF career, I was always in my element because camaraderie and helping your neighbors is what you do. I feel that bond since I discovered this forum and have seen that there are a lot of good folks here; folks ready to help out their friends and neighbors. I thank all of you for that experience and digital relationship. Thanks to all for putting up with my dissertation. All I want to say is Happy Jeeping everyone. If I see you on the trail, that would be a bonus!

Yeah, the whole Jeep thing and community has always been fascinating to me. Have loved them as far back as I can remember in every form and look. As a teen, I wanted a Scrambler as my first vehicle (didn't happen), so drew up plans with all the mods I was going to do to it and showed it to my dad. He wasn't impressed as he thought about what ANY vehicle was going to cost with double-digit interest rates during the recession of the early 80s. 😂 😂 😂 After that, it just wasn't practical with a family.

Come full circle when the kids out of the house and married and it's just my wife and me as we go through this part of our lives where I can do some of those things I wanted to do. Joining the community with a 2018 JL was a great thing, and I have been having a blast ever since. 👍

23 JLU Willys XR 2.0T. I've driven this thing literally from WA to FL and back twice. Had it up in Alaska and Canada last summer on some pretty bad roads. I think it rides and drives fine. There's no reason to complain or apologize or make excuses for the Jeep. It's a Jeep, not a luxury car. But its also not a bread truck.

Pic was taken in Dawson City up in the Yukon Territory in Canada.

They’re right. I’m an irrational, sad, little sack of Jeep-love; spending too much money on what they won’t spend enough on at the factory.

I’m in harmony with myself. We need more of us and less of this AI.
