I love the Rubicon, but the truth is that 4:1 t-case ratio would be horrible unless you were crawling rocks out in the mountains and I don't need it. And the BLD system does everything I need so lockers aren't really required either. So, I decided to save the $7,000 and get the Sport with S package and make it my own.

I now have a total of $2,000 spent on mods and I'm taller than a stock Rubicon, with a better stance, I can tow my utility trailer, I have all the amenities I wanted, and I can still get 19 MPGs combined which is a little better than Rubicon owners are reporting.

That looks great!

Thanks and enjoy the getaway
Thanks! We're staying at a Victorian-era farm home that now serves as a bed & breakfast. It's literally in the middle of nowhere near the appropriately named World's End State Park, Pennsylvania. :)

Hows does the spacer lift and wheel spacer affect the ride, or anything...?
I really can't tell any difference in the ride quality. I used the stock springs back but did get the optional RC shocks with my kit. Just have to step a little higher to get in!

Added rubi wheels/tires to the jlus today. Considering getting takeoff rubi shocks/springs to add 1.5" lift. Have others done this and was it worth it?

I did it on my Sahara and felt it was worth it (got about 0.75" to 1" of lift total), it is very easy to install on the JL

Still have stock wheels/tires, would like to just go up to 33 tires. Think the Rubi shocks / springs would be the right fit. No need for a full lift, right ? What are the part numbers or specs for the Rubi shocks and springs ?

33s should fit on stock shocks/springs, so Rubi takeoffs would be more than enough.

Thanks for the reply to my questions.
How much do your wheels/tires stick out from underneath the fender flares? Do you have a head on picture to show?
A little later than promised, but here ya go. Hope this helps.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Helps a lot. What size are your Nittos? 35x12.5x18?

Sport S in my garage. Upgrades;

-Step sides which are already bent.
-Bumper and Smittybilt 10k winch and Rigid lights
-Rubicon wheels and 33s
-Rubicon shocks. Already have better springs
-Star hood sticker for extra clearance
-CB with fabricated antenna mount
-Cargo shelf in back. Made myself
-Relocated third brake light into spare
-Pillar light cubes

Upcoming;
-Lockers
-Better lift
-Better sliders
-Rear bumper
-Underbody Armor
-Off road driving class

I like some of the creature comforts on the Rubicon but think after all my plans will still be cost effective buying my Sport vs Rubicon.

Just in case anyone wanted to see Sport S sag while towing. Mine is bone stock. The tongue weight on the SeaDoos is ~250lbs and I recorded around a quarter inch of sag. On a completely level surface its negligible.

@Elliott That looks really really good! Are you seeing any major differences in the ride quality over stock? Any significant MPG change?

I'm sure these questions have been asked before but I'm new to Wranglers and am curious about the JLU Sahara specifically.
