Possibly the most important feature yet...I've been hitting up Z-Automotive for the cooldown mode to function while running since acquiring my Tazer. If anyone is paying attention, you know these diesels run HOT! and it doesn't take much to drive up the coolant temp even more...up into VERY unwanted temperature ranges.

With the release of the latest beta version, COOLDOWN now works while RUNNING!! What this means is (from what I've found) running the fan on high will drop the coolant 20°f in just seconds! So if you are pulling a grade hard and heavy or even crawling up a trail, you have better control over the engine coolant temps.

This ONE FEATURE, in my opinion, make the Tazer-JL worth the purchase price.

Guess I'll have to pull it and do an update. Which brings me to this. Do you have to unmarry it to do an update or can you leave it married and just remove it from the Jeep then reinstall?

Couldn't tell ya...I've wondered the same thing myself. I "unmarry" but it would be nice to just update and not have to go back and reset everything.

Anyone else know??

You may want to double check, but the latest I saw from Joe@Zautomotive, was if you are using the programming utility on a windows computer you can leave it married. If using a MAC it needs to be unmarried due to some issues with the drivers used on the MAC's.

How do you enable it while rolling? Would be nice to kick on right before a steep grade etc.

To engage cooldown mode, you need to press the arrows simultaneously on each side of the steering wheel that point toward the center.

If should probably read the Tazer JL mini instructions for a clearer explanation.

The cooldown feature tricks the computer into thinking the coolant temperature is beyond operational limits (the gauge will give a false, extremely high reading), but that will automatically activate the fan and cause it to run at its highest speed.

In my experience, oil temperature is the parameter to be concerned about . . . it's always 20 degrees higher than coolant when running hot.

what temps are you talking about? give us a number.

since the fan will come on when it gets up to a certain temp that the designers specified, why do you think you need the fan engaged earlier?
overcooling can have detrimental effects on the AC, the engine, the Trans, etc.
