i have a JL and I just noticed today that the tailgate may have a slight sag to it. The inside of the tailgate door appears to be striking the inside of the body on the wrangler when closing. I need to lift the door slightly when closing to prevent this. Is this a problem I can fix or something that a dealer needs to look at? Can’t figure out where I’d adjust the hinges. Thanks.

See if you can find the instructions on how to install the Mopar tailgate reinforcement bracket. You have to remove and loosen some of the bolts while wedging a piece of cardboard to hold the tailgate up while closed. That may help make what you are experiencing a little better. The instructions are visual and will make more sense vs trying to explain.

After fixing the issue consider the following to try to not repeat the issue in the future:

What size tires are you running?
Do you have the heavy duty hinges?

Thanks for the info everyone. Tires are factory, I think 17 inch? No heavy duty hinges, just factory.

Most of us run 17" wheels, regardless of tire size, and they don't tend to vary that much in weight. Upsized tires are where the weight is added. The tires' sidewall marking, while cryptic-looking, will give you the size.
