I just install mine tonight in my JL Rubicon. The remote does not work so I guess I’ll have to put a switch in If I keep the light. Also the light is so curved it is not nearly a good fit in the window. Maybe they just sent me a bad one. Waste of money as far as I’m concerned. I bought it from Amazon so maybe I can get a refund. Light does work well when plugged into the back cigarette lighter, It just does not fit well in the window and the remote does not control the light even though the remote lights up when you press the button.

I did a dry fit of this light in my JLU today. It seems like the curvature of the light bar is best designed for the cable to feed into the trunk on the passenger side (for the dome light). If you flip it to feed in on the driver side (to use the cigarette outlet instead), the curvature doesn't fit as well. The ends pop up more. Anyone else encounter this or am I missing something? I thought about adding extra 3M tape to keep the ends taped down, but not sure if it will hold long term

Yeah the curve makes it not fit it so well when you flip it, but if you install it like the instructions have it, it fits perfectly. As for the remote, it might be the remote plug in that is broken, the connecters on mine didn't seat properly until I fanagled it to fit.

Yeah, I did the same thing and added some more 3M tape on the side that popped up.. It's held up ever since I put it on.

this is the standard switch that comes with any Rigid light bar, the switch isn't lit up when it's off so there's no power draw, it just lights up like the images when it's flipped on

thanks! I started with a small drill but moved to my dremel tool in order to slowly widen the hole until the switch fit in snug without making the hole too large
Thank you!

did you plug in the little remote receiver too? I thought the same thing at first and realized there was a little receiver you have to plug in for the remote to work (and pull the battery tab on the remote).

the way a few of us have shown our install here is backwards, if you look at the instructions the wire is meant to go on the passenger's side, I flipped mine because I wanted the wire concealed and to do so it has to go on the drivers side, it does curve and pop up on the ends when you flip it like we did, but some 3M tape does the job and it stays down

see above, its because its only meant to go on the pass side, those of us that flipped it added some extra 3M tape and it worked fine

Yeah I think is the wire that goes between the light that is supposed to control the remote is bad. The light works fine by just plugging it in without the remote and that extra wire. As far as the fitment goes yes I did flip it and yes I did add extra 3M tape but it still will not hold on the passenger side end. I can look at it and see that it has a good bend in it starting about 8 inches from the end of it on the passenger side. That is the end it will not hold and I actually remove the light and started over with New 3M tape. But it is up there and it does work and it is holding it just does not look great on the passenger side. If the remote would work I would be fine. Actually the remote does work, it lights up on the end it just will not control the light

so weird. I didn't even try my remote actually because I wanted it switched.

This evening I installed the Brawlee light. I ran the cable through the hard top channel. I am going to install a Rigid Industries rocker switch this weekend, I didn't have a dremel to use. I also used additional 3M tape in between the existing round tape it comes with.

That is perfect!!! Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks
Make sure there’s room behind it and you don’t hit some wires or whatever back there . :like:

Agree 100%!! It was kind of tough finding a spot with clearance behind it a lot of spots don’t have enough room.

I’ve installed this light following the instructions to tie it into the dome light wiring in the passenger side. While I originally wanted to reverse it like many here, the curvature of the light just wouldn’t allow me to get a clean fitment even with more 3M tape. So I went the traditional route.

The problem I have is I can’t get enough access to the dome light wiring on the passenger rollbar to hardwire it. I can pop off the plastic covers around the seatbelt and taillight access portal, and can pop the retaining clips on the plastic housing around the rollbar, but can’t pry it open enough to get my hands in there (although I can see the wires). It feels like I will break it if I pry too hard. It seems this is because the Alpine subwoofer enclosure is much bigger than the standard housing which I believe is pictured in the Brawlee light instructions. I thought I might be able to pull the sub cover off and find a way to give the housing more flex, but that didn’t work either. Anyone else run into this situation and if so how did you deal with it? I’ll be sending an email to them, but thought I’d also check this thread. Thanks!
