I put on the Brawlee Led light bar for the rear window so I can have a light while overlanding/camping! I decided to wire it into the cigarette lighter so I can have it running with the jeep off and then added a switch into the small cutout. I can't tell if that spot was made for a switch since it fits perfectly!

Brilliant! I watched the video and pretty much have it figured out but I’m also a guy that can mess up toast. I couldn’t quite figure the wiring to the lighter socket. Any chance of a labeled picture?

Just installed mine, love this thing. SO BRIGHT. Little suggestion to everyone wiring this, you can actually very easily route the wire into the hardtop where the wiper tube goes into and fish it out where the other disconnects come out, makes for a much cleaner install without the clips and wire showing at all on the window or on the inside of the hard top. Decided to put my switch in a slightly different location than the OP so it doesn't get bumped by cargo since my switch didn't have a cover.

I'm with everyone else, this is one simple mod that everyone seems to be amazed by. I did however just hook mine up to the interior lights. I'm considering putting a LED strip under my shelf and putting it on a switch though.

For those that are electrically challenged (ME) can someone who has “tapped” into the 12v socket provide details on which wire goes to what exactly? Pics with labels?

yes, exactly

There are 2 wires going into the cigarette lighter (in the diagram below its the "power supply). The black ground wire gets tapped into and goes to both the switch ground and the light.

The other wire gets tapped to your switch.

Then the red wire on the brawlee light gets connected to the third point on the switch.

Helps me to draw it out with "actual" parts. Did I get it right?

Yes, exactly... you have 1 and 3 switched, but really that is specific to your actual switch you decide to use, the one I used came with one of my Rigid light bars that I never used, you'll notice on many of the switches the ground prong is a different color than the other 2 so its easy to tell which is the ground. As far as the splicing I ended up making a little mini wiring harness from extra wire I had from a previous project and used that to kind of make a Y connector that goes from the cigarette lighter splice then to the switch and to the light, that way there's only one splice on the cigarette ground. I used the wire taps that came with the brawlee light to tap into the cigarette lighter wires.

do you know the power draw of your switch? i.e. are you worried it will eventually drain your battery?

I'm new to mods, especially lighting and cutting into the covers. What did you use to cut a hole for the switch? It looks great!

this is the standard switch that comes with any Rigid light bar, the switch isn't lit up when it's off so there's no power draw, it just lights up like the images when it's flipped on

thanks! I started with a small drill but moved to my dremel tool in order to slowly widen the hole until the switch fit in snug without making the hole too large
