The pest is back, size is hard to judge from a pic but if I got an extra center cap and managed to drill out the center without ruining it. You think it would stick out enough to cover ?

I’m going to admit at this point I don’t know which hole is being referred to. I don’t know what would need to be plugged up if not using the third brake light.

Figure 11-12 - the oval hole on top of the camera stalk for the brake light wire that you disconnect and tuck it into for removal.

I apologize for my lack of understanding.
What about a piece of heat shrink? @BDinTX is 100% correct about the wheel covering that pretty well.

@rohdawg I'm glad you posted that diagram. Maybe a piece of thin plastic rolled up and stuffed inside the tube would seal it off? Thinking something like a lid for a big tub of potato salad, cut into a rectangle and painted black.

That’s an idea- the wheels are “3-4 month back order” and the 4 months are up in about a week. I don’t want to get the carrier until I am assured I will get them so I don’t have it to judge, the center caps only come in 4 packs at $160 if I want just one. This is why I am picking your guys brains.

I think this should do the trick. It's wider than the camera is before heating, and can shrink and seal the entire hole easily. You may have to trim a bit if the camera gets covered up, but that shouldn't be too challenging - just trace the groove with a fine blade and peel gently.

Amazon.com: ELECFUN 3 inch Heat Shrink Tubing Roll 3:1 Large Marine Grade Heatshrink Tube Dual Wall Adhesive Lined Shrinkable Wiring Wrap, Fully Insulation (4 Feet Black Tubing) : Industrial & Scientific

Another option is the Mopar third brake light relocation kit (that's what we use). It sits right over top of that hole and would block anything large enough to be called a pest.

The idea is to use only the light ring. I tried unsuccessfully to see (catalog) how the Mopar 3rd light installs. Can it be essentially diss assembled leaving only the camera stalk clamp ring ?
I’m afraid I would scrape and wreck shrink wrap with the first rotation/spare use after thinking about it.
Still no back ordered wheels ETA ?

Yea it comes off pretty easily. The kit comes with two lug nuts that have threaded holes in the ends. You screw the two bolts into the brake light holder, and plug in the light. Takes 2 minutes.
