Care to elaborate? You’ve been quite vocal. Putting off strong troll vibes.
Its an engine misfire usually felt between 1700 and 2000 rpm during light acceleration. Just google or search this forum for 3.6 hiccup!! It is a real isssue

And exactly what issues was the dealer referring to? Probably just wanted to sell you an automatic sitting on the lot.

I trust dealers as much as someone with a Hindi accent trying to tell me over the phone they are from the IRS and need my bank account number because I owe them money.

First, there is no software involvement other than to sense slipping of the clutch, based on an a computation that compares the wheel spin to the engine rpm´s. How much slippage and the duration of it determines if the warning light comes on and if the engine power is reduced.

I am running one of the earliest production manual JL´s and it has NEVER exhibited any issue related to the recalls, which it had completed, except for the latest one. No slipping, no overheating, no problem. After 91,000 miles of mixed driving, much off-roading, and pulling boats and utility trailers, it still has no issues.

It sounds like the dealer is full of BS.

I would not hesitate to buy a manual again, if I were ordering a JL today.
This has nothing to do with the clutch or slipping. It is an engine misfire usually between 1700 and 2000rpm under light acceleration. Google or search this forum for 3.6 hiccup!! Seems to be 2024 models mostly

I have a new '24 V6 6MT. It does have a miss or hiccup. I believe @Ironhorse created this thread to see how widespread the issue is. A few guys on the MT ordering thread have noticed the same thing. Seems a SW tune could fix the issue.
Yes, feels like a lean misfire. Trying to get Stallantis to update software!

I have a '24 Rubi 6MT and it's fine. It does have the hiccup too since day one, but certainly not a game changer.
It drives me crazy every time it does it!! 65k and it needs a software tune to run right? Maybe i am too picky??

It is annoying I've just gotten used to it. Probably shouldn't accept it lol. I haven't had it to the dealer yet. I'm deciding whether or not I want them doing the 5k oil change/tire rotation for free or if I'll do myself. If I take it in, I'll be sure to lodge a complaint and see if it gets any traction. I don't want them taking things apart though since there is no fix for this hiccup that I'm aware of. I'd hate for them to introduce a new problem.

65k, has the hiccup been there since new? Bad gas, clogged injectors, dirty fuel filter, clogged air filter? Have you performed a throttle calibration?

This is pretty much ubiquitous for the revised Pentastar, manual or auto. There are threads as old as this forum talking about hesitation when VVT/VVL kick in, usually if your throttle application isn't completely smooth through certain RPM bands. I noticed it early on if I didn't put my foot in it enough in 3rd around 2900 revs. Hasn't happened to me in a while... Throttle calibration probably helped.

I wouldn't waste any more time at the dealer. Nor would I let them tear into a brand new engine to diagnose an issue that they're just going to (correctly) inform you is a normal operating characteristic of this engine.

There have been multiple reports of 'service transmission' errors with the latest software. More apt to happen with larger tires, but has been reported on stock ones as well. A couple guys have been without their Jeeps for months because the dealers had nothing to help.
I'm getting the service transmission message intermittently after I had the recall done but it never stays. I have re-programmed for the tire size and still have stock gearing. It is throwing a clutch position sensor code P083F that I think it could be.

my 2015 6sp sometimes takes a long time to upshift. And when hitting the hills on the highway tends to not downshift. The 2019 6sp with the new CF Clutch tends to shift early, resulting in low acceleration, would a software update help this issue? Or perhaps an LPC contact with the organic posterior? No complaints about winter driving in 4HI on snow covered roads. I did swap the tires for 35x10.50 for the winter, tazer used to update tire size and not sure what it does for the shift points. I do like it when the shift points adjust for conditions based on the organic input to the vehicle.

I have the hiccup also at low rpm's between 2000-3000 RPM. Annoying but not to the point that I would sell my vehicle.

My Tacoma (I won't get into a debate, but the powertrain is known as being far more reliable than any Stellantis product) with 37k miles will stumble when lugged a little bit in 3rd...I think this is just a symptom of high revving V6s with Variable Valve Timing, weird gear ratio choice by manufacturers to meet some parameter, and probabaly emission controls as mentioned previously.

The clutch in the JL is too light feeling. No doubt. But the engine hiccup is making a mountain out of a mole hill (our 2024 Willys has it) and is just going to stress you out running from Jeep dealer to dealer to get one of them to bite on doing something.....do you really want them tearing down an essentially brand new engine to find this hiccup?

I've tried and tried and tried to reproduce this problem on my Jeep but it just doesn't do it. Only thing I can offer is that I always run on ethanol free gas whenever possible, maybe that would help?

I think the 65k was referring to the price he paid, not mileage.
