I would avoid any new 3.6L manuals until Jeep gets its software issue resolved. Informed by dealer that the new 3.6 manuals have a unresolvable issue for now??

No unresolved software issue that I'm aware of, the forum would be lit up if there were. Aside from the recall not being available for mine (a '22) yet anyway. But any sold new will have that done already.

I trust dealers as much as someone with a Hindi accent trying to tell me over the phone they are from the IRS and need my bank account number because I owe them money.

First, there is no software involvement other than to sense slipping of the clutch, based on an a computation that compares the wheel spin to the engine rpm´s. How much slippage and the duration of it determines if the warning light comes on and if the engine power is reduced.

I am running one of the earliest production manual JL´s and it has NEVER exhibited any issue related to the recalls, which it had completed, except for the latest one. No slipping, no overheating, no problem. After 91,000 miles of mixed driving, much off-roading, and pulling boats and utility trailers, it still has no issues.

It sounds like the dealer is full of BS.

I would not hesitate to buy a manual again, if I were ordering a JL today.

And exactly what issues was the dealer referring to? Probably just wanted to sell you an automatic sitting on the lot.
There have been multiple reports of 'service transmission' errors with the latest software. More apt to happen with larger tires, but has been reported on stock ones as well. A couple guys have been without their Jeeps for months because the dealers had nothing to help.

Gotta correct the speedo or those kinds of errors are normal.

Then again, I have not done the last recall yet. So maybe he´s right.

Nothing normal about the latest software, they are ruining perfectly running vehicles. Many people have reported this, some new with only a couple hundred miles. I traded in an unmolested 2020 at 45k, the clutch and original software never missed a beat.

I believe the latest update for the recall is interfering with the tazer changing tire/gear ratio size resulting in the service transmission error. I think they've already released a fix for it though

2019 stick w/ 70k on the odo, zero issues, still on original clutch. Zero recalls performed (purposely). Living life on the edge for some, totally normal for others including myself. Maybe a symptom of symptomatic issues is the one that has you believing something is wrong?

I have the belief that If it isn’t broken don’t fix it, and when it does break it becomes obvious what to fix.

Sorry to hear it, but this is the first I´ve heard of it. I know a couple guys with new manuals and they haven´t experienced it. Maybe they are lucky.

I´m in no rush to get the latest recall. This may slow me down further.

"Vague Posting"

KAREN: "I just can't do it anymore, I can't go on like this, it has to end!"

NORMAL PERSON: "What's wrong Karen, how can anyone help you?"

KAREN: "Leave me alone, I don't want to talk about it!"

...............UH-NOYING.

I have a new '24 V6 6MT. It does have a miss or hiccup. I believe @Ironhorse created this thread to see how widespread the issue is. A few guys on the MT ordering thread have noticed the same thing. Seems a SW tune could fix the issue.

I have a '24 Rubi 6MT and it's fine. It does have the hiccup too since day one, but certainly not a game changer.
