Flashcal is a calibration tool that is used primarily for adjusting for aftermarket tires and gears. The Flashpaq (coming soon for JL) included performance tuning options to accompany the tire/gear options.

So I have a JLUR that I plan to run 37” tires on and a 2.5” lift. Friends have told me that the 4.10 gears won’t handle the 37” tires and I need to go to 4.88’s.

Is this problem something either one of your products could help with by possibly adjusting the shift points of the 8 speed?

Yes, the programmer will allow you change the gear ratio value in the computer in order to adjust shifting behavior, but given how well the 8-speed handles 35s, its probably not something you need to immediately address. Granted, the JL is still young and its longevity remains to be seen, but plenty of people are running 37s with 4.10s and the only thing that's getting killed is gas mileage.

That being said, the 8-speed auto is such a departure from the JK's WA580 that you might not even need to go to 4.88. 4.56 might be more suitable if you're looking to blend performance and fuel economy. 4.56 on the JK was the sweet spot for both 35s and 37s. It'll be even better on the JL.

I recently upgraded from stock tires to 305/70R17. I am still trying to understand the benefit of the Superchip. I understand it adjust the speedometer but what else does it adjust? RPMs, MPG, shift points?

disable Navigation in-motion lockout... Were these mistakenly left off of the product description?

No tune or calibration unit has ever been capable doing this that I'm aware of. As far as I'm aware this has always been dealt with by the audio community with a separate device that plugs into the factory harness.

I’m running 37’s and have zero gearing issues. Gas sucks but if I cared I wouldn’t drive the cars I do. Speedo is way off, but that’s about it.

Will the Flashcal be up-gradable to essentially the FlashPaq when tuning gets sorted out?

As far as the FlashPaq goes is this something that's anticipated in the near term or potentially by the end of the year. Only asking as in the past there have been issue with cracking the computer for tuning that have caused lengthy delays in products getting released.

It makes sure that your speedometer registers correctly which ensures your transmission shifts correctly along with making sure your traction and stability control all function as they should.

It doesnt chnage anything about how the vehicle runs, but for example, if your speedo is off, the MPGs being calculated are wrong as well, so correcting the speedo will allow you to see correct MPG data, etc.
It will also help to improve shifting performance if the speedo was previously off.

Yes, the flashpaq upgrade will be an option once it is ready.
At this time, tuning support is still in testing, I don't have a clear ETA but I would say its more like 30-60 days out if I had to guess

So I got my Flashcal today. Can you not entirely turn tpms off? I obviously received a set of bunk tpms and they do not register, so every time I turn the Jeep on, the dash reads blah blah tpms. I tried to turn them off, but it says for off-road. The warning still pops up on every start up, however, the warning light is not on. Any advice?

I don't think 4.88 is ridiculous for 37s on a JK, but both the 8-speed auto and 6-speed manual transmissions alone on the JL bring entirely different variables to the table. Yet, a lot of dealership techs and mechanics apply JK thinking to the JL when it comes to virtually any kind of modification and that's going to cause a lot of confusion and misinformation.

I had to argue with the shop I bought my KO2s from about mounting 35s on my stock wheels because, while you can't normally do that on a JK without spacers, they weren't familiar with the JL at all and naturally assumed the axle and wheel specs were the same as the JK. I had to haul the tires to another shop to get them mounted.

You should be able to disable them entirely.
