Less than 1000 miles and my sun visor broke at the point where it swivels. New part on the way but apparently it’s not under warranty so that being said: how do you get the visor off? I’m stuck with the wire for the vanity lights and can see to get it disconnected to replace the mount.

Thanks in advanced.

What do you mean it's not covered under warranty? You have less than 1000 miles on the vehicle and you are being told it's not covered? I would get ahold of Jeep Cares asap. @JeepCares

The dealership told me they can’t prove it’s a factory defect....

Just spoke with Jeep Cares who said it would be covered unless the dealership thinks it was caused by an outside influence (which they haven’t even seen my Jeep in person yet) and recommend I get a second opinion from a different dealership...kind of a hassle after spending $45,000 for a Jeep to fight for a $62 fix....

Your Jeep should be covered 100%, period. The dealership shouldn’t even question it. Maybe you need a new dealer?

Yeaaaaah I just emailed the General Manager. It would be shame to go elsewhere because buying the Jeep from them was a wonderful experience I expected the same from the service department...so we’ll see.

I’m still curious as to if anyone knows how to replace it if worst comes to worst I’ll do it myself.

Hi Kyle,
Warranty coverage is something that is determined by your dealer after a proper diagnosis. If you have not had your vehicle inspected in person, we recommend doing so. If you would like, we would be happy to get you connected with a case specialist to assist throughout this process.

Below is a link to another thread on this issue. My visor broke recently as well, but with 17K miles. The dealership ordered a new one, and did not say it would not be covered under warranty.

This does not seem to be a widespread issue, but I have now seen 4 people with this issue. There has to be a defect in a very small portion of these. I have never had an issue with the two other FCA vehicles I have owned, which both have a similar sliding visor.

Agreed. Your photo looks EXACTLY how my visor looks as well...
