Sun visor fell out

Went to move down sun visor and the “hinge” just fell right out and nearly smacked me in the face as I has driving. What in the world...

6k miles and I have used the visor only a hand full of times. If I punch it back in there it kind of sits in place but then just falls right back out...

Known issue... Warranty will cover it. Someday you will have to do the repair yourself as the dealer fixes it with the same visor with that Achilles heel.

Yes, the stealership replaces the whole visor.. Unfortunately, the visor may be backordered and take weeks to come in.

This has to becomesuper common, happened to both of mine, 2018 Sahara, 26k miles. It's honestly terribly designed, either someone was like, nah, who cares, or there was an enormous oversight. Real great feature for a vehicle touted as ultimate road vehicle.

This is great, thanks, I wonder if the same mind can put together the best way to better insulate/sound dampen interior. ?

why isn't this a safety recall? Parts are clearly defective and could easily cause an accident. Who from Jeep can take this up and resolve it? I now have 38k miles and 2 visors falling out of the bracket because of a cheap piece of plastic that isn't designed to do the job properly. Doesn't seem like a fix I should have to pay for.

I agree it should be a safety recall. I am in the process of speaking with Customer Care about mine. Supposedly there is a recall on certain VINs made by certain manufacturer, but not on mine. They escalated my case since my 2018 JL is showing the same symptoms. Waiting to hear what Jeep is going to do to help me, if anything.

Unfortunately I don’t have any more info than what I posted. Customer Care would not elaborate since my VIN does not have a recall on it.
