Update: I was bringing in the Jeep for it's last Jeep Wave oil change and went through checking common issues as we are approaching the end of the warranty mileage. The replacement drivers side that broke last year is holding up well. However, the passenger side is now broken. I hope these replacement ones truly are better. The dealership told me to replace the visor with home link it would cost over $400 out of warranty.

I bought my new 2020 JLU Rubicon Sunday. On the way home from the dealer, I pulled the sun visor down and it broke. I took it apart hoping it was simply a clip that had popped off but nope. Plastic sheared right off. Drove up to a different dealer yesterday (bought it about 300 miles away from home) and they said they get 2-3 a week with this problem. I have an appointment Thursday to get it fixed.

Well this isn’t a club I wanted to be a part of, but here we are. 2019 JLU Sport S with 17k miles. Drivers side is hanging. Guess I’m headed back to the dealership... again. The poor service manager cringes every time he sees my name.

My driver's visor was broken when I bought my Jeep. I found out on the way home! Had it replaced under warranty at the dealership after some pushback.

Joining in on the broken visor club. I was so excited on my way home to install my new Rubicon fender flares that just came in and I went to put down the visor and it almost flew out the open window! If the doors were off that thing would’ve been gone!

Have an appointment to get it fixed tomorrow, hoping that they put in a sturdier part... or just one that will last more than 16 thousand miles of driving!

I visited the dealership today, they estimated 2-3 weeks before the part would arrive to fix my sun visor.

Update... lol I called my dealer which is 1hr away from me. I'm due for my 2nd oil change thought 2 birds 1 stone. I am still covered under my basic warranty. They stated they didn't know this was a "Known issue " they need me to take the jeep in have it inspected by a service specialist. Then order the visor and GO BACK! I live about 50 miles from there. I understand having to send proof to jeep. But with covid going around. Why can't I take the pictures and submit them???? Why do I need to go back 2xs! It's the same crap that happen the 1st time! - yes I'm angry!!

It sucks, but like I mentioned above, just fix it yourself, and you'll never have to go back (at least for that problem).

I have the same issue.......... dealership broke the driver side back in May, so they fixed it under warranty. Now the passenger side has done the same thing, and they are stating that since I'm over my 30k I will have to pay for it. Its a poor design I stated and don't agree that we should be responsible. So now they have offered me a goodwill but would have to pay $100 deductible............

Jeep, looks like you need to replace the supplier or have them improve the longevity of this part!! I don't feel we should be responsible for bad design or injection issues.

Yeah, it's such a pathetic design, having a thin piece of plastic holding down a fairly heavy part that is in frequent motion. It's like this is the first time they've done this :headbang:
