Suggestions for cleaning the interior?

Any suggestions on cleaning the interior? I live on about a mile of gravel road and the dust inside the Jeep after running naked for a while is getting bad. Any tips and tricks from you long time jeepers?

I use a large shop vac and my air compressor with blower nozzle at the same time.
the compressed air really blows the dust out of all the edges nicely

1. If very bad, or you want to get to hard to reach areas, an air compressor and blower nozzle
2. Vacuum
3. Use a clean cloth and a spray bottle of vinegar and water mixture and wipe down all the plastic parts.
4. For leather seats, use a damp clean cloth to wipe them down. Do not use anything further, no leather conditioners or cleaners. They are not recommended per the owner's manual.

I was on a trail ride last year where the dust was so heavy on the passenger seat, I was able to write my name in it. The above process made the interior look brand new again.

Let me add that frequent cleaning is your friend. It's like shaving -- painless if you do it regularly; painful if you wait too long. If the air compressor + shop vac aren't enough, a quality cleaner plus gentle scrub brush should do the job. Chemical Guys make some great products for this.

What ever you do not use soap on anything... It will leave behind a residue that will cause more dust/dirt to stick to it in the coming days.

A leaf blower works well. Follow up with a blower nozzle if you have a compressor at home (if you don’t, you should). Then shop vac it (another item you should have). Damp, wrung out micro fibers to clean the rest of the interior. If you use that greasy kid stuff, Armor All or any similar “protectant”, stop. It will damage your plastic and vinyl and is a dust magnate. 303 is the only stuff worth using and use it sparingly.

I live on a dirt road too. I found going and buying one of those cheap bristle hair paint brushes at Ace and a $2 detail brush at an auto store works wonders.
Use leafblower with doors open to blow out most of it. Use the brushes to dislodge the rest, then simple microfibre cloth and armor-all or something and it looks good as new.

As for the carpeted areas, I honestly dont bother with that as much. Its in the back where the dogs are so I cant see it anyhow.

After I’m done washing the Jeep, I wipe off the interior with the wet clean chamois. It is easy peasy.

These Jeep interiors have too many nooks and crannies for my fat fingers. Folding the chamois and pushing it into the corners is the only way to pick up the dust that collects in there.

PS - I realize you are probably not even washing the Jeep, given that you run naked —sort of speak.

I recently started using one of those swiffer dusters to clean off the dash and center console after dusty trail rides. Does a pretty good job and does it quickly.

I have a yellow lab and a golden. It's always my first step before vacuuming. It blasts out all the stuff you can't easily reach as well as doing about 85% of the work.
I also use the leaf blower to dry my vehicles off after washing them. No water spots.

Can you show me a picture of the blower nozzle you use? I am thinking of getting one for my compressor.

Drive naked into a thunderstorm for a quality wash, than hit the highway to blow dry it out.
