I had a small leak on my 2.0 last year at about 20k miles. The dealer just couldn’t figure out how to get the hose clamped, it was a long drawn out fiasco but eventually it was fixed.

About a few weeks after it was finally fixed I realized the fan wasn’t kicking in at the normal temps it would before. I think it was 212 degrees, I can’t recall.
Now it wasn’t kicking on until over 222 or higher. I called and spoke to the manager on the service department and he said they updated the computer to engage the radiator fan at HIGHER temps because people were complaining of it being too noisy when it came on. I couldn’t believe it.

Hopefully you can get the leak fixed best of luck!

Yea that's actually true. The fan was incredibly annoying.

It is loud af. But for me personally I would rather have it kick on earlier to help keep everything cool instead of waiting another 15-20 degrees to engage
220 is a perfectly healthy operating temp. Fans don't do a whole hell of a lot anyway until ambient temps are very high and you're not moving.

Tightening the bolts properly is a fix. Loctite is not a glue. It is intended to dry on the fastener before installation and then be installed.
Depends on what type of Loctite. 243 is a liquid that is to applied to clean fasteners and assembled immediately and allowed to cure for 24 hours. 248 is a stick that can be applied and then assembled later.
