O.K., so, you listening FCA beetches? Special Edition 1: Jeep Wrangler JLU Stingray: In gray (obviously), auto/manual, graphite Rubicon wheels and 33" KO2's, steel bumpers, cloth/leather interior in black only with stingray stitching/special badges (designed by ThirtyOne, of course), Selec-Trac, LED, Max Tow, Cold weather group, Infotainment, body colored Rubicon flares, all-weather mats/trunk liner, all standard. Active Safety as an option($795), remote proximity as an option($495), dual top standard, painted top as an option($1200). No lockers, no disco, Sahara Dana's/CV's. $46,995 (opt. $2000 auto, $1495 leather). Not a rock crawler, just a bad-ass, every day capable all-season beach/trail/snow friendly rig with room (and budget) for upgrades. $53k-ish loaded. I think I would qualify as not smart, but genius. And a very stable genius at that.
Out of curiosity I ran the numbers on this. So you want Sahara Dana’s and CVs (no lockers or disconnecting sway bar) with Selec-Trac which means it has to be an automatic with anti-spin differential rear axle.

JLU Sahara (auto/anti-spin differential w/ Selec-Trac) $41,730
LED Lighting Group $895
Trailer Tow and HD Electrical Group $795
Cold Weather Group $895
Electronic Infotainment System Group $1,495
Dual Top Group $2,195
All Weather Floor Mats $130
Base Price $48,135

Jeep Active Safety Group (optional) $795
Remote Proximity Keyless Entry (optional) $495
Body Color Freedom 3-Piece Hard Top (optional) $1,200
Price w/ Options $50,625

(-5% Off Wholesale Price $2,531.25)

Jeep Performance Parts Steel Bumper (front) $1,000
Jeep Performance Parts Steel Bumper (rear) ~$800
Jeep Performance Parts Custom Khatzkin Leather $1,495
Jeep Performance Parts Paintable High Fender Flares $600
Price w/ Jeep Performance Parts $54,520

Discount $2,531.25

Total Price $51,718.75

Next sell Sahara wheels & tires, front and rear bumpers, body Color Fender Flares, and side rails. Contact local Jeep club for new Rubicon wheels & tires (usually ~$800-$1,000) and paint High Fender Flares.

No need to wait for a Limited Edition... It’s available now!!! And you’ll end up spending less then $53k after it’s all said and done!!!

P.S. You can have a custom Sting Gray Logo made for seats and body decals!!!

That's true for any special edition. You could always build it yourself and pay less than MSRP.

This is nice work. I ran similar numbers to come up with the $53k price, but that was MSRP, so factor in the 5% below after that, and my package would be less than yours, plus no run around looking for wheels/tires (around $1500-1800 on the forum, but due to come down after more Rubis get modded) and getting flares painted, and no installation on my part or having to sell my used wheels, flares and bumpers.
Additionally, with the backlog in production, I doubt that I could get bumpers, Khatzkin and flares in any kind of timely manner. Finally, special editions are cool.

P.S.: Do you recommend the Khatzkin aftermarket over the optional leather seats? Same price (actually more b/c the factory seats would be 5% below invoice, or around $1265). I haven't heard great things about Jeep factory leather.

@misanthrope Jeep leather has been historically fair to bad for me. My '12 had cracked at seat-bottom bolsters (note that the bolsters were vinyl and only the seat-bottom cushion was leather) at 12k miles. My '15 leather has faired much better (entire seat bottom is real leather) but I only have 8k miles on them. And I try to make an effort to use the rock rails to assist in getting in an out vs. sliding (which wears seats much faster). Hopeful the JL leather is of better quality than those before it.

Religious leather conditioning also helps. Dryness is your enemy.

All that being said, I am considering getting the Sahara and waiting for folks to mod their Rubis, as I could see many people changing/removing the steel bumpers, flares and especially tires/rims, and I could get them at used prices. Imma wait to see where everything's at come order time (at least an agonizing year away).

I doubt people will sell the steel bumpers because they are an option.

Yeah, I figured that would be the tough one, but for those buying off the lot, they might swap out the steelies. Seems like most of the dealer orders are including the bumpers, mats, optional rims (which I don't want), head liners, etc. We'll see...

People sell the JK factory Rubicon steel bumpers all the time here in FL. They buy them off the lot and then realize they want a different look. Prices are not typically low compared to buying rubi takeoff wheels and tires or rock rails.
