Sticky throttle on cold start

It's been pretty cold here. I wasn't sure what was happening at first, but it seems that the throttle sticks for a bit on a cold start. I have the manual transmission, so I jump in, put it in first, give it some gas, and then when I take my foot off of the accelerator but before I hit the clutch, it continues to create thrust. I'm not just rolling forward because of momentum, I have legitimate thrust. Once I'm in second it seems I can roll indefinitely with my foot off of the gas. I believe it goes away after the Jeep warms up. Is this some thing I should concern myself with? It's a little unsettling in a parking lot where generally the accelerator and engine braking is all I need to control my speed and not hit anybody by mistake. But now I have to throw the clutch and brake back into the mix, when I've never had to do that before. Any one else have experiencing this?

Is it maybe because the idle is still at 1200-1500 due to cold engine?

Cold start can put some wears and tears on most power components, so take it easy especially in the winter.

That would make the most sense. I'll check out the tachometer next time
