Which part...the first (holding down buttons) or the second (looking like a fool and driving around 5 times in a tight CC circle under 5 mph)?
I did both parts for my reset and it worked...be very patient and go slowly (wait more than 30 seconds and go under 5). You will kinda see the uconnect system go dark after enough time has passed.
The reset part. I wait like 31-40 seconds, with no change in the display. It pops up no phone paired and stays like that. I turn off the vehicle, open door, close door, turn back on, and it comes right back to the screen ā€œno phone pairedā€. Then I plug my phone in that shows my gps location at home, then it immediately replaces me at the dealership. Yay

Your best best might be to either tweet/DM @JeepCares about your issue or contact your local dealership. They seem to be well aware of the numerous uconnect issues and are being pretty good about getting them diagnosed...if not fixed. It is still really sad that there are these sorts of issues, but at least it is the tech and it isn't something else that is more difficult to fix or would require a recall (yet).

Hello everyone,
If you are experiencing any concerns with your Apple CarPlay/Android Auto having the incorrect location once you plug your phone into the vehicle - please send us a PM with additional details. Include which phone system you are using, more details of what is happening, and if you've visited your dealer on this.
Thank you!

Having the same issues with gps on a 7", Waze works fine but Google maps and the Android home screen shows Toledo

Also Google is recording that I have been going to the factory in Toledo

On mine, the Nav works great, and Google Maps works great, but Waze can't seem to get a pinpoint location. It won't stay centered on the road, and shows the vehicle to be to one side or the other of the road I'm actually on. It will correct every 1/4 mile, or so, but then goes off the road again. Weird. I've thought about deleting Waze from my phone and downloading it again, but I need to see if I can remember my password.

Is that happening with anybody else?

Update...Waze is working perfectly now. I turned off battery saving and that seemed to do the trick. Funny thing, though, I can now use Waze with battery save on, so maybe an the timing of an update was coincidental. I did inform Google that I was having this problem. Maybe that helped.

Also, you can enter the "Enginnering Menu" and can do a factory reset and other things

1) Hold hot and cold physical buttons on the dash at the same time for 5 seconds when the car is running
2) Select "Reset to Factory Defaults"

Oviously all settings, pairing, radio stations etc will be lost.

EDIT: Word of warning, there's a risk of loosing Navigation.

Did this give you the Off Road Pages back?

This does not work on mine. I can get to the engineering menu but it doesnā€™t have an option to reset. This Uconnect consistently keeps me 70 miles away from my current location (purchasing dealership). Jeepcares has stated that the 7ā€ doesnā€™t have a gps when Iā€™ve seen in other places that they (FCA) admits it does. The compass may say acquiring signal for the entire duration and when it does get a signal, it can be up to 180* off of true bearing. I donā€™t feel like wasting my time at the dealer till they acknowledge thereā€™s a problem. However, itā€™s so annoying i may not be able to hold out.

Apparently, my JL wants to go back to its birthplace from the Sacramento area as well. Whenever it plug in CarPlay, the maps app says I'm in Toledo and the Compass says I'm traveling in the wrong direction and the clock changes to Eastern time. Anybody have any info/updates on this within the last few days?

Make sure you contact jeep Cares by pm on this forum. They are tracking the issue and trying to figure a long term solution. I just sent them a video of mine doing it. The dealer did a reset of mine yesterday and it seems okay for now.

Thanks! I have called them 4x this week and PM'd Jeep Cares, here. Apparently, the reset sequence does not work for my JL.

The reset described in this thread didnā€™t work for me either. Whatever the dealer did worked though.

I just went out and checked it again and my compass was blank then 180Ā° out then it corrected itself. The CarPlay is working correctly today. Yesterday I started another thread just on this issue.

I didnā€™t read every comment But I just had my uconnect updated at the dealer and Of Course, the screen locked up on waiting to update in one minute, for two days! I disconnected both the batteries but that didnā€™t fix it so I said fā€™it and just take it back to the dealer on Monday and let them fix it AGAIN. then I thought The Fuse! Pulled it out for two minutes and Bam! The radio works again! I hope this helps someone else.

I have been having trouble with GPS and Apple CarPlay recently. Coming from the tech industry I looked around the internet on how to reset uConnect. Turns out there are many uConnect reset procedures depending on the model. I got off the phone with uConnect this morning and would like to confirm it for the community with this same question.

Steps:
1. While the vehicle is on and running on the steering wheel, hold down the voice command and green phone buttons for 30 seconds
2. Let go of the buttons and turn the vehicle off
3. Once the uConnect display is completely off (black screen) open the driver door
4. Close the driver door and turn vehicle on and running
Does this reset everything back to factory defaults? I saw the video someone posted but that doesn't seem to work. I wanted to reset all my settings because when I took delivery of the jeep it looks like someone went and messed with a bunch of different settings, themes, etc and I would like to start with defaults.

The above reset procedure does not work for me, when I hold down the VR and phone button it brings up SIRI and seems to not reset anything when all done
