Right now, they know they can sell ICE Chargers as dealer and customer orders are enough to keep us at full tilt through the 2026/27 model years. It was Tavares who eliminated the V8 program and switched the focus to an EV model for EVERYTHING we built. That was a mistake even he admitted and that's why we're doing a full turn to mostly ICE and easing into EV.

On a side note, talking with the Dodge SRT guys I was told that if there wasn't internal rules in place they could easily ship 80% of the Named Chargers (Demon, Hellcat, SCAT, etc) they were capable of building to overseas buyers.
Would be interesting to really know where these overseas buyers are that would absorb those Chargers, people that could afford to buy those Chargers could easily get them purchased in the US and shipped to them by a broker, one major reason American vehicles are rarely shipped overseas, is that in most countries around the world anything with an engine bigger than 2.0 gets slammed with hefty import duties, usually 100%, another huge issue is lack of parts availability, so a simple part will cause a vehicle to become a paper weight. Factor in poor FCA quality, the last place you want them to fail is outside North America.

Qatar and Brunei alone probably keep the broker business going. There's a special Dodge team who's purpose is distribution of the limited edition models. The underhanded methods that went on when the SRT 170 was released are movie of the week worthy. But yeah, it's the wealthy that can afford the taxes and bribes who are acquiring them.

@RatZero - I just read about the new Hennessy Demon 1700- 7.2 L, twin turbo, 1700 HP and there was something very interesting
“During this dyno test , Ram’s CEO Tim Kuniskis can be seen in sheer disbelief” 🤔 at Hennessy getting pointers from the maestro , perhaps more aka Ford-Shelby ?

A little further research found a couple others saying Stella is stuck with the agreement Tavares made.
Car Pro USA. “Remember me saying months ago the Stellantis CEO needed to be fired, well that was true, and that was Before this news came out !”
“Most major automakers are gaining regulatory breathing room following the rollback of California’s latest zero emissions vehicle rules. Stellantis remains locked into one of the toughest compliance tracks in the nation. A 2020 settlement agreement between the automaker and CARB assures the company must meet the state’s phased EV sales targets through at least the 2030 model year “ …………..
There has got to be a way to extract their business somehow from this crazy agreement with CARB.

How could they ever have signed up for agreeing to the last sentence and it's consequences in the following..........

The final settlement included some short-term emissions credit relief, but also required Stellantis to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by more than 10 million tons by 2026, invest $10 million in EV chargers in public parks, and refrain from challenging the agreement in court. :headbang:

Colorado is right behind Washington DC and CA in auto thefts. California is also one of the few states which pay more taxes than it receives.
America is a union, those that hate states just by name have been brainwashed.
From that reply I assume you are supporting Cali policy toward handling of the EV mandate ?

America is a union where members still have 50 different choices of which state they want to live. I made my money in California,. When I retired over 30 years ago I moved to Florida. 2/3 of my kids also moved their families out of California as soon as they could to Virginia and North Carolina. The remaining son can't wait to leave but is making too much money in Long Beach.

It's great to be able to freely choose where and how we live.

I have no issues with electric vehicles, I believe they are the future.
I realize that corporations need a push to head in the right direction and a lot of people in the oil business worldwide are not America friendly. So I consider EVs as a counter to them.
I like clean air and on a summer day…quite…..EVs will give us that when the tech matures.
Every day the neighbor across the street has to ‘tell’ everyone he started and is driving down the street with his Tundra with big pipes and drone. I never want to be that guy.

...you choose to live in NJ. We agree corporations may occasionally need a push but disagre in who does the preponderance of pushing - government or market.

Would you continue to support EV policy if it was armful ?

Can't get into politics but you're either bending over for the government or big business.
Choose your poison.
I always said if the plane is going down I'd rather lose my life to government bureaucracy than to corporate greed. 🙃

Well if I tell you that the EV policy is actually a bad thing and create more harm than it fix, would you support it ?
As I said I believe that driving behind a EV is a much more pleasurable experience than being behind a ICE engine and that should be our future.
The tech if allowed will only get better.
People still smoke cigarettes but their usage has been curtailed.....

Again we disagree; I trust greed as a motive over altruism,. Corporate greed, driven by consumer demand, will ultimately build a better plane than any government bureaucracy.

Ultimately the best/ safest plane, car, or bicycle, altruisticly is no plane, car, or bicycle at all.

I disagree. I really enjoy ICE. EV's for me are a different kind of fun. My first real experience was driving one hard on canyon roads and it the performance/enthusiast applications were immediately apparent. Driving ICE on the same roads is a different experience with different limitations, and still loads of fun.

If/when charging and battery heft become ignorable, EV's will outnumber ICE vehicles on the road by natural order.

That doesn't change the fact that many people have made up their minds and oppose EV's for everyone and are actively supporting efforts to harm the industry.
